LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE!

LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE! | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
Four men have been charged with a series of offences relating to the alleged abduction of a 13-year-old girl, Suffolk Police have said. Police have confirmed the arrests.

They said Surin Uddin, 28, of St Matthews Row in London, has been charged with two counts of rape against a girl under the age of 16 and one child abduction offence.

Mohamed Sheikh, 31, of Seaton Point in London, has been charged with a child abduction offence and with possession of a controlled drug.

Ali Hamza, 38 of Chingford Road in London, has been charged with sexual assault and a child abduction offence.

Abdul Hammed, 46 of Wellington Street in Ipswich, has also been charged with two counts of rape against a girl under the age of 16 and one child abduction offence.

The men are due to face Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, ten men have been apprehended by police on suspicion of committing serious sexual offences after raids across Bradford and district.

The arrests were made as part of an inquiry by police in West Yorkshire, which is thought to be linked to sexual grooming.
The men, who were arrested when police acted on Wednesday, have incredibly, and not surprisingly, been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The investigation is thought to be associated to alleged offences against a 14-year old girl from nearby Keighley .
A spokesman for the police said: “There were ten arrests made across Bradford district on suspicion of serious sexual offences. All ten have been bailed.

Because it is an ongoing investigation the force cannot disclose further information at this time.”
Eight of those arrested are believed to be from Keighley and two from Bradford.
Abid Hussain, Keighley Central Labour Councillor, confirmed he had been told of the raids by the town’s police.

He said: “The police have done what they should be doing in arresting these people. It is disappointing. However, I fully support the police and will work with them.”
His associate Khadim Hussain said: “I have heard that the police are carrying out an operation.

I am aware there is an operation into sexual exploitation. The police have taken action but, at this stage, we need to wait and see what will happen.”

Keighley MP Kris Hopkins acknowledged he had been enlightened on the operation.

He said: “I was made aware that it was a serious operation and I was grateful for that information. I want the police to be able to carry out their investigation fully and to make sure that a fair process is put in place to let justice prevail.”

Britain´s Asian Heroin Gangs

Britain´s Asian Heroin Gangs | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

Documentary providing an undercover investigation and insight into Britain's growing Asian heroin gang problem.

Few facts revealed..

- Mainly Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Hindu heroin gangs operating all over UK
- Involved at every level of trade, from smuggling to money laundering
- Using seemingly legitimate cash businesses as fronts
- Taxi's frequently used to delivery drugs around collect money
- Close-knit communities used to protect and conceal the trade and dealers
- Dealers offer free heroin to young people to get them hooked
- 7 tons of heroin smuggled into Britain from Pakistan, India and Bangladeshi every year
- 90% of heroin gets through and onto the streets, worth an estimated £2 billion pounds.
- 1kg of heroin sold in UK linked to at least 1,000 crimes.
- Heroin dealing linked to terrorism and Afghan war
- Heroin destroys lives, families and communities

A few years ago Daily Star ran a revealing article interviewing the pushers, quotes below:
“The UK’s heroin trade is increasing at an alarming rate and most of the cash helps arm terrorists with bombs and guns.”

The US has already been targeted in the evil campaign which mirrors a terror plot in the new James Bond novel Devil May Care.

Between 1990 and 2005 Taliban-linked drug peddler Haji Baz Mohammed raked in a staggering £17billion by pouring heroin into North America.

He told a US court that “selling heroin was a jihad because they were taking Americans’ money and the heroin was killing them”.

A street level pusher said the following:

“The big bosses have Taliban and al-Qaida connections and we’re often told only to deal it to non-Muslims. They call it chemical jihad and hope to ruin lives while getting massive payouts at the same time.

“I’m more interested in the money. I knock it out to anyone, whatever their beliefs.

“But there are lots of big-hitters who only sell to non-Muslims – to poison them.”

People interested in the use of drugs as a weapon of war and demoralization, might want to read the symposium "Sex, Drugs and Psychological Warfare"

Do you know these men? Police release pictures of gang who attacked students on 142 bus in Withington

Do you know these men? Police release pictures of gang who attacked students on 142 bus in Withington | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

Police have released CCTV images of a gang who viciously beat two students as they travelled on the top deck of a bus. The two men, both students, were set upon as they travelled on the 142 bus through Withington. Police believe at least one of the attackers was also a university student – and have been working with campus bosses to track them down. They have now released pictures of three attackers, all Asian men in their 20s, believed to be behind the attack. The incident happened in early hours of January 11, this year. The two victims and a friend fell into a conversation with a group of five Asian men on the late night service. But three of the men launched an unprovoked attack on the group, punching and kicking one of the victims as he lay helpless on the ground. One 22-year-old student suffered a cut on his eye and required surgery. His friend, 21, sustained a bloody nose. Det Con Dominic Heslop, investigating, said: “We believe at least one of the offenders is a student at the Manchester Metropolitan University, based on conversations between the two groups. “Although it has been several months since this incident, both victims were badly affected by what happened and our inquiries will continue until we have identified all those involved. “I also want to stress that of the five involved, we believe two played no part in actually physically assaulting either victims, and in fact witnesses have told us that one of the group was overheard saying: ‘I told you not to do it’. “I want to appeal to that person or person in the group directly: If you were involved in the assaults and tried to talk your friends out of it, then you need to come forward and speak to us.”

Six "Asian" men jailed for more than 30 years for heroin ring

Six "Asian" men jailed for more than 30 years for heroin ring | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

Three men from Gloucester are among six people who have been handed prison terms of more than 30 years for their roles in a heroin ring.

The convictions of six men from the city and Greater Manchester follows an operation by Gloucestershire Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency.

Gloucestershire Constabulary

The offenders all admitted their part in the ring during previous court appearances, and were sentenced today at Preston Crown Court.

Drugs seized during the investigation had a potential street value of more than £1 million.

Detective Inspector Neil Carpenter, of Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: “This investigation started back in September last year and, working with our colleagues in SOCA, we have disrupted a significant heroin supply ring.

“This operation targeted both those bringing drugs into the county, and those then supplying it on to the streets, so we tackled the supply chain from top to bottom. A number of other people are already serving prison sentences or are awaiting court appearances for their involvement in this heroin gang.

“It’s a great example of cross border and cross agency cooperation, and demonstrates the capability of the Constabulary to combat major crime both alone and with other agencies.

“We’re pleased the six offenders are now getting their just desserts and that we’ve taken a substantial amount of heroin, which was destined for sale on the UK’s streets, out of circulation.”

Matt Burton, SOCA’s North West Head of Investigations, said: “Partnerships at a local and national level are vital if we are to tackle the drug chain from one end to the other and protect the public. In this case the amount of heroin seized – enough for over 100,000 street deals – would have caused misery for families and communities. These criminals are not only behind bars where they belong; they have been denied substantial profits.”

The six offenders sentenced were:

Habibul Islam, 24, of St. Michael’s Square, Gloucester. He admitted cnspiracy to supply heroin and was sentenced to five years and seven months imprisonment.

Gias Miah, 29, of Harescombe Drive, Gloucester. He admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and was sentenced to seven years and eight months imprisonment.

Mohammed Azfal Miah, 25, of Bleinhem Road, Gloucester. He admitted money laundering and was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment.

Mohammed Hanif, 39, of Reservoir Street, Rochdale. He admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and was sentenced to five years and five months imprisonment.

Stephan Caldwell, 24, of Park Road, Oldham. He admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and was sentenced to seven years and four months imprisonment.

Raja Miah, 27, of Gowers Street, Rochdale. He admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and was sentenced to four years and one month imprisonment.

The investigation into the gang’s activities started last summer and in September 2011 a car being driven by Mohammed Miah was stopped on the M5 motorway, travelling north between junctions 10 and 9.

Within the car were two large bags of cash, with abnormally large deposits of heroin on the notes.

Later that month, in Rochdale, Habibul Islam and Raja Miah were seen with Mohammed Hanif involved in exchanging drugs, and 11.2kg of heroin was recovered.

Covert investigations were able to establish links between all the gang members and forensic evidence also linked Stephan Caldwell to the drugs.

While 11.2kg of heroin were seized, the amount the gang pleaded guilty to supplying 1.3kg of the drug.

Brit Held After Babies' Bodies Found In Luggage

Brit Held After Babies' Bodies Found In Luggage | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
A British citizen has been arrested in Thailand after the bodies of six babies thought to have been used in a black magic ritual were found in luggage in a Bangkok hotel room.

Chow Hok Kuen, who was born in Hong Kong of Taiwanese parents, was detained in the city's Chinatown area and is being held for possession of human remains, police said.
He faces one year in prison and a 2,000 baht (£40) fine if he is found guilty.
Authorities believe the 28-year-old was trying to smuggle the bodies to Taiwan. It was not clear where they came from.

Wiwat Kumchumnan, of Bangkok police, told reporters the suspect planned to sell the remains to clients who believed they would become "lucky and rich".
"The bodies are of children between the ages of two and seven months," he said. "Some were found covered in gold leaf."
Officers had reportedly received a tip-off that the bodies of dead infants were being offered to wealthy clients through a website advertising black magic services.
The corpses were bought from a Taiwanese man for 200,000 baht (£4,000) and could have been sold for six times that amount in Taiwan, police said.
Kuen was staying at a hotel in Khao San Road, in the capital's backpacker area, but the bodies were found in a separate hotel.
Black magic rituals are still practised in Thailand where fortune tellers offer ceremonies to reverse bad luck.

Anger over 'Asian' grooming label

Anger over 'Asian' grooming label | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
Groups representing Sikh and Hindu communities complain about the term "Asian" being used to describe the men involved in grooming trials.

Earlier this month, nine men were jailed for being part of a sex ring in Rochdale which groomed girls for sex.

The groups said the men involved were "almost always of Pakistani origin" and the term "Asian" was inaccurate.

The Ramadan Foundation has said grooming is "a significant problem for the British Pakistani community".

The joint statement was released by the Network of Sikh Organisations UK, The Hindu Forum of Britain, and The Sikh Media Monitoring Group UK.

It says the reluctance of the media and the government to discuss the "disproportionate representation of Muslims in such cases" and the fact victims are "almost always non-Muslim girls" is adding to the cause of far-right groups such as the BNP.

It said blanket use of the word "Asian" was "unfair to other communities of Asian origin".

"We believe that in this case the government itself is sanctioning the use of term Asian as a way of clouding responsibility," the groups say.

Stifled debate
The groups say sex gangs have targeted Hindu and Sikh girls but the cases are rarely reported as they seldom reach the courts.

The statement says: "We believe that political correctness stifles debate and will not facilitate a frank and mature discussion or solutions to get to the root of why the above pattern is emerging in these crimes and how to help find a solution to the problem.

"We will not be able to do that if we mask the identity of those involved based on misguided views of 'protecting a vulnerable community' of the perpetrators and not looking at the vulnerable community of victims."

Last Week Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of The Ramadhan Foundation, said: "There is an over-representation [of Asian men] amongst recent convictions in the crime of on-street grooming [and] there should be no silence in addressing the issue of race as this is central to the actions of these criminals," he said.

He said community elders were "burying their heads" over the issue and police and local councils should not "be frightened" to address the problem, as there was "a strong lesson that you cannot ignore race or be over-sensitive".

On Monday, the chair of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, Trevor Phillips, said the race of the men involved could not be ignored and it was "fatuous" to deny racial and cultural factors.

But assistant chief constable Steve Heywood, of Greater Manchester Police, said the case was not about race, but about "adults preying on vulnerable young children".

Liverpool Crown Court heard the nine men plied their victims, one as young as 13, with drink and drugs so they could "pass them around" and use them for sex.

The case sparked protests by far-right groups but police insisted the grooming was not "racially motivated".

£40k arson scam lands Oswaldtwistle trader in jail

£40k arson scam lands Oswaldtwistle trader in jail | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

AN Oswaldtwistle shopkeeper who torched his store for an insurance payout of up to almost £40,000 has been jailed for four years.

Saddaqat Ali was found guilty of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered on August 11, 2010 and fraud between August and December 2010, after a week long trial at Burnley Crown Court.

The 40-year-old married father of four, who had claimed the blaze had nothing to do with him and denied the allegations, was sentenced yesterday, after the court waited for pre-sentenced and psychiatric reports.

Recorder Mark Ainsworth told Ali at a previous hearing: “A prison sentence was inevitable.”

Sitting at Preston Crown Court Recorder Ainsworth sentenced Ali, who had no previous convictions. During his trial the jury were told, how Ali, started the fire at the West End Convenience Store, Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle after removing valuable stock from the shelves.

He had been seen leaving the premises at about 10.30pm, by a neighbour who was also a regular customer.

Shortly after, the customer heard a popping sound from the shop.

Worried neighbours risked their lives trying to smash their way in with a sledge hammer, fearing people might be trapped inside.

Firefighters tackled the blaze and their investigation proved the fire had been started deliberately.

The court also heard Ali made a claim to his insurance company for damage and business interruption, saying he had been burgled. No cash was ever paid out.

Ali, of Perry Street, Darwen, who had leased the premises for a year at the time, claimed the business had been going well and he had been making a profit.

He insisted the shop had not been in trouble and claimed the first thing he knew about the blaze was the next morning, when he listened to voice messages from loss adjustors on his mobile phone.

Giving evidence, the defendant had told the court that he had left the shop at 9.30pm and had gone to the house of a woman he was having an affair with before driving home.

Rochdale child sex grooming case originally dropped

Rochdale child sex grooming case originally dropped | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

Prosecutors and police explain why the initial investigation into under age sex grooming in Rochdale was wrongly dropped.

Three years ago, a Crown Prosecution Service lawyer dropped a rape case involving an under-age girl which could have left a sex grooming ring undetected for years.

The teenager was arrested outside a takeaway in Heywood in August 2008 for being disruptive.

She alleged one of the workers had groomed and then raped her.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) investigated Kabeer Hassan and another man, aged 59, but it was nearly a year later when a CPS lawyer decided to drop the case.

According to Nazir Afzal, chief prosecutor for the North West, the lawyer had viewed six hours of video testimony from the girl and also had DNA evidence, but decided "she would not be viewed as a credible witness by a jury".

Hassan and the other man, who cannot be named, have been convicted by a jury at Liverpool Crown Court with seven others, all from Greater Manchester, who groomed young girls for sex by plying them with drink and drugs.

The file of the girl's allegations was one of the first on Mr Afzal's desk when he started his new job in the summer of 2011 and he took "an immediate decision" to prosecute Hassan and the 59-year-old man.

'Wrong decision'
By then GMP's Operation Span, launched in December 2009, was under way investigating allegations from other under-age girls in the Rochdale and Heywood areas relating to the other defendants.

However, Mr Afzal maintains he would have charged both men even if the only evidence available had been that which led to the original case being dropped.

"I took the view that a jury would have found her a credible witness," he said.

"I regret that the wrong decision was made."

Mr Afzal said his decision to prosecute was based on 20 years experience including expertise in rape cases.

The CPS's dropping of the original case led police to stop all investigations, a decision that is now the subject of separate inquiry.

The original lawyer, whose decision was reviewed and backed by a CPS unit manager, has been taken off rape cases and is undergoing retraining.

The way GMP treated the 2008 allegations is at the centre of a managed investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

It was only after a second girl made similar claims in December 2009 that detectives began Operation Span.

'Failing'
Police went on to find more than 40 vulnerable and at risk girls across Rochdale and Heywood subjected to on-street grooming by a network of men, mostly takeaway employees and taxi drivers.

All five girls who were witnesses in the gang's conviction were known to social services at some stage in their lives.

GMP is not commenting directly on the IPCC inquiry, but Assistant Chief Constable Steven Heywood concedes the force has made mistakes.

"We apologise to anyone that has suffered due to any failing on our part, " he said.

"We probably could have done things better.

"We and other agencies are on a journey, we know more about this kind of crime than we did in 2008."

Surprise suprise - Woman Stabbed to Death in Northfield Taxi, police looking for 'Asian'

Surprise suprise - Woman Stabbed to Death in Northfield Taxi, police looking for 'Asian' | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

Police are searching Birmingham for a man who’s suspected of stabbing a woman in a taxi.

The woman, who was 22 years old, died at the scene following the incident at 8am at the junction of Dimsdale Road and Hoggs Lane in Northfield.

She’d been a passenger in a taxi along with a man, who ran away from the scene after she was injured.

The taxi driver called the police and ambulance service but the woman died from her injuries at the scene.

DCI Wayne Jones, from the Force Criminal Investigation Department, said: “Officers have sealed off the scene of this incident, and are making significant enquiries in the local area as we search for the man who ran from the scene.

“We believe that the victim and the suspect are known to one another and one line of inquiry is that this incident is domestic related.”

“The suspect we are searching for is described as a mixed-race Asian man, around 5ft 8in tall, in his 20s, with short black hair. He was wearing a dark jacket.”

“We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who has seen this man, to come forward and contact police.”

Dimsdale Road, Hoggs Lane and Norrington Road have been closed whilst emergency services work at the scene and detectives begin forensic examinations.

Superintendent Andy Shipman, from Birmingham South Police, added: “We urge local people to come forward to help with this investigation.

“Our officers are out in the area conducting house to house enquiries and speaking to members of the community to offer some reassurance to those distressed by this morning’s events.”

“Violent crime is very rare in south Birmingham and we hope local people can be reassured that this is being treated as an isolated incident between two people, at this stage of the investigation.”

“Relatives of the victim are being informed and will be supported by specialist liaison officers from West Midlands Police.”

Burnley Hit and Run Racist Attack

Burnley Hit and Run Racist Attack | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
A hit-and-run which left a white teenager with a broken leg is being treated as a serious racist assault, police have confirmed today.

The 17-year-old was hit by a vehicle carrying Asian youths as he walked from Burnley town centre towards the predominantly Asian areas of Stoneyholme and Daneshouse, where sporadic violence flared over the weekend.

His 38-year-old friend managed to avoid the car and was not seriously injured.
The assault took place as the two were walking along Colne Road last night.

The blue saloon car drove up alongside them and an exchange of "racist" words with four Asian youths in the vehicle occurred.

The car then raced away along Colne Road before turning round and hurtling back towards them.

The car mounted the pavement and the teenager was struck and suffered a broken lower left leg.

Police said the incident is being treated as a racist attack and are considering bringing charges of attempted murder against the perpetrators.

Superintendent John Knowles said the assault was the only serious incident after five nights of violence in the town.
The hit-and-run is being examined by 30 detectives, who are also looking into the serious incidents of the weekend.

In June 2001, Burnley saw a series of violent disturbances arising from racial tension between elements of its white and Asian communities.

Ex-Squaddie is attacked by five Asians and HE is arrested for Racially Aggravated Assault!

Ex-Squaddie is attacked by five Asians and HE is arrested for Racially Aggravated Assault! | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
A Liverpool ex-squaddie, Keith Davies, was near Wembley stadium,on his way to watch the Everton v Liverpool semi final of the FA Cup.

Keith had lost his eleven year old daughter and his partner in the crowd, alone and 200 miles from home, and was frantically trying to phone them to ensure that they were okay.

He was wearing his Everton shirt, and was walking up Wembley Way, towards the entrance of the stadium.

Whilst still on his phone,he accidentally bumped into some people walking in the opposite direction, and within seconds, he was surrounded by five Asians, who were all in his face, threatening him,and all were wearing Liverpool shirts.

A fight broke out and Keith, who is a former British soldier, defended himself against the five of them.As soon as the fight started the police moved in,and although it was quite clear that there were FIVE Asians against ONE Englishman,Keith was the ONLY one that was arrested.

Also, the police made no attempts to locate his daughter and partner, who were still lost to him.

He was then taken to a London police station and locked up until 3 o'clock in the morning.

At that point, he was released from custody into the freezing cold weather, wearing just a thin Everton top and a pair of shorts.

He asked the custody officers what time the trains started running and they said 8 o'clock.

So he asked if they would let him stay there a bit longer, until the public transport started, but they refused and he was put outside.

Over twelve hours earlier,he had been set upon,by five Asians and was now released at 3am,in a town which is 75% ethnic, and he felt very vulnerable. For five hours,Keith had to keep moving around to keep warm and safe from the glares of late night ethnics, until he could catch the tube train and head for home.

He eventually arrived home and after a couple of days,he received a summons to attend court, for Racially Aggravated Assault! Keith was stunned by this, and when he questioned it,the police said; “You called one of the other people Abdul”.This added insult to injury.

Not only had Keith been attacked by five Asian thugs (masquerading as Liverpool fans),then jailed for 14 hours, and then left to fend for himself, freezing and vulnerable,in a town 200 miles from home,he was now being accused of an outrageous suggestion of making a racist comment.

He has now been informed that he could face a prison sentence of up to SIX YEARS for defending himself, from these Asian thugs. To say that Keith is angry is a massive under statement;he is outraged that,in OUR COUNTRY,the police automatically accept the word of a group of foreign thugs that were attacking the ONE Englishman!

It is very likely that this injustice will continue in the courts. So it would help if a group of patriots were to hold a peaceful demonstration outside the court,in London,to let the establishment traitors see that we are keeping an eye on what they are doing.

Also,Keith has been told that he can NOT claim Legal Aid, because the small amount of money he earns puts him outside the qualifying bracket.

So, he is left with a few choices;

• Go into severe debt, by employing a lawyer to try and protect his freedom;

• Try to defend himself without any legal knowledge; or

• Throw himself upon the mercy of the court and hope for justice!

None of the above look good, as the current system of ‘British justice’ means that if you are a WHITE man,in any kind of dispute with a foreigner, then you are automatically guilty!

This is the state of England and English justice in the 21st century.

Keith’s case is on Thursday the 5th of July and it is likely to be heard at the; HMCS, 448, High Rd, London, NW10 2DZ Tel: 020 8955 0602

Lying Bradford hospital consultant jailed for causing death of young mum

Lying Bradford hospital consultant jailed for causing death of young mum | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

A HOSPITAL consultant whose gross negligence led to the death of a young mother-of-two in West Yorkshire has been jailed for two years.

Consultant urologist Sudhanshu Garg, 44, was led out of the dock at Leeds Crown Court as many of those in the public gallery looked on in tears.

The court heard how 37-year-old Lisa Quinn died at Bradford Royal Infirmary on Monday August 25, 2008 – three days after she went into the Accident and Emergency Department suffering from a kidney infection.

Before that, a judge was told, she had been a fit and health young mother.

Mrs Quinn – who left children aged 10 and 12 – was admitted to hospital on a Friday and her condition deteriorated over the Bank Holiday weekend.

She was not given a crucial ultra-sound scan until two days after she arrived at the hospital and Garg missed vital opportunities to properly investigate what was developing into a life-threatening infection and blockage.

A judge heard how, on the Sunday evening, Garg missed an chance for Mrs Quinn to be transferred for emergency treatment at a hospital in Leeds.

She eventually got the nephrostomy treatment she needed on the Monday evening but died soon after.

Garg admitted gross negligence manslaughter earlier this year.

Sentencing him, the judge, Mr Justice Globe, said he had no choice but to send him to prison.

The judge said: “Your plea means that your breach of duty was causative of Lisa Quinn’s death and cumulatively it amounts to a disturbing picture of a failure to take action.”

He said that if Garg had performed his duties correctly “the overwhelming probability is that she could have survived”.

The judge also described how Garg falsified Mrs Quinn’s medical records in a deliberate attempt to cover his failures.

“It was a blatant attempt to disguise and conceal evidence of your failures,” he said.

The judge said it was extremely rare for a doctor to be convicted of gross negligence manslaughter.

Gage, of Cottingley, near Bradford, stood in the dock wearing an open-neck, short-sleeved shirt as he was sentenced.

The court heard he qualified as a doctor in India in 1991 but all his post qualification training was in the UK and he got his first consultant’s job, at Bradford, in 2006.

Mark Ellison QC, defending, told the court he was now a “broken man”.

Detectives investigating Rochdale child sex ring make two more arrests

Detectives investigating Rochdale child sex ring make two more arrests | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
Detectives who smashed the Rochdale child sex grooming ring have arrested two more suspects.

Two men, both 33, were held earlier this week on suspicion of rape and sexual assault. They were bailed pending further inquiries. The men, who are from Rochdale and are understood to be Asian, are suspected of abusing one of the five girls who gave evidence during the trial at Liverpool, which ended in the jailing of nine men. The trial heard the girl was plied with drink before being raped or sexually abused from the age of 15 over a period of two years. The girl has told officers she was also abused by four other men, who she knew only by nicknames, in 2008 or 2009. Although the claims were not part of the court case, detectives have continued to investigate her allegations and now believe they have established the identities of those four men. At least one of them is thought to have fled to Pakistan. One senior detective said: "Our inquiry continues. There are other potential victims coming forward. The positive side of the court case is that people want to speak to us. We’ll have to see where that takes us." The two suspects arrested earlier this week have not been quizzed in connection with allegations of a second child sex case in the town. It was revealed last week how nine men had been arrested over allegations from another girl who has told officers she was sexually abused over a six-year period from the age of 12.

Bradford woman 'drugged and kidnapped by family after refusing arranged marriage'

Bradford woman 'drugged and kidnapped by family after refusing arranged marriage' | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it
A Bradford woman was drugged and kidnapped by her family after refusing an arranged marriage, Preston Crown Court is told.

The court heard Naila Afsar's parents, Mohammed Khan, 55, and Shamim Akhtar, 56, and brother Shamrez Khan, 32, fell out with her after she wed in secret.

It is alleged she was taken at the Accrington home of her sister Saima Mahmood, 29, and Zahid Mahmood, 34.

All five deny charges of kidnap, false imprisonment and administering a drug.

The prosecution said the family fell out with Ms Afsar, 23, after she refused to go ahead with an arranged marriage to her cousin and moved to Newcastle, marrying another man in secret.

She told the court when her family found out they did all they could to split up the couple, but Ms Afsar eventually agreed to attend a reconciliation meeting at her sister and brother-in-law's home in Accrington in January 2010.

The prosecution said it was there that she was drugged and bundled into a car, to be taken back to the family home in Bradford.

The trial continues.

We must answer 'troubling questions' about sex-grooming gangs who target white girls

We must answer 'troubling questions' about sex-grooming gangs who target white girls | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

There is nothing to be gained by 'shying away' from the issue, Tim Loughton said.

Comments come a week after nine men were jailed for grooming and sexually abusing girls in Rochdale
Councils urged to take immediate action to stop children being abused while in their care

Britain needs an open debate about 'issues around culture' that may explain why men from Pakistani backgrounds are over-represented among offenders prosecuted for grooming white girls for sex, a Government minister has said.

Children's Minister Tim Loughton was speaking a week after nine members of a grooming network in Rochdale were jailed for offences against vulnerable girls aged between 12 and 16.

The men, all but one of whom are of Pakistani heritage, lured their victims off the streets with free food and alcohol before sexually abusing them over a two-year period in flats and houses across northern England.

The trial was the latest in a series of court cases in which men from the Pakistani community have been prosecuted for sex offences against teenagers.

Mr Loughton told a conference on child sexual exploitation, reported by The Times, that the Rochdale case raised 'troubling questions' about the attitude of the men towards white girls.

Another 'Depraved' pair locked up for grooming girl, 13, for sex

Another 'Depraved' pair locked up for grooming girl, 13, for sex | Race & Crime UK | Scoop.it

Two men who shared a 13-year-old Bradford schoolgirl for sex after she was bribed with alcohol, cigarettes and money have been jailed.

Two men who shared a 13-year-old Bradford schoolgirl for sex after she was bribed with alcohol, cigarettes and money have been jailed.

Shabir Ahmed, 39 – branded “a dangerous, predatory paedophile” by a judge – was locked up for ten years and must spend an extra four on extended licence.

Munwar Khan, 42, who paid the girl £20 for sex, was imprisoned for three years and four months.

Ahmed forced the girl’s older sister to watch them having sex at his flat in Windsor Court, Little Horton, Bradford, and was seen by her horrified aunt having intercourse with her through his open curtains, Bradford Crown Court heard.

The aunt told the jury of witnessing a “naked, pot-bellied, 40-year-old man” having sex with her young niece.

Ahmed was convicted last Friday of three offences of having sex with the girl, grooming her, two offences of indecently assaulting her vulnerable adult sister and nine of having obscene child pornography on his computer.

Khan, of Morley Street, Bradford, pleaded guilty to two offences of having sex with the girl.

Ahmed has a conviction for indecently assaulting a girl of 13 in his car after plying her with alcohol.

He was jailed for 30 months in 2005 and ordered to sign on the sex offenders’ register for life.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said yesterday the men’s victim was from a respected, traditional, Asian family.

One of her abusers had given her chlamydia and Ahmed threatened to petrol bomb her family home if she or her sister told on him.

The men were arrested when the girl’s pink bra was found in Khan’s bed and a bag containing her school uniform at his home.

The judge told Ahmed he had turned “a bright, successful, confident, girl” into “an appallingly damaged child”.

“You are a dangerous, predatory paedophile, targeting, watching and abusing vulnerable children,” he said.

Ahmed turned up at Lister Park, Manningham, Bradford, in the summer of 2010 in one of his expensive cars and “chatted up” the schoolgirl and her older sister.

He groomed the young girl, who looked only nine or ten, until she thought of him as “her very best friend”, said the judge.

Ahmed took photos and made videos of his sex acts with the girl and took her to places where there were only adult Asian men present.

One phone video showed him trying to persuade her to strip off in front of other men.

She went missing for days on end and Ahmed took her out of school.

“You took her virginity and cleverly and wickedly manipulated her,” Judge Durham Hall said.

“Your arrogance is startling as indeed is the depth of your depravity.”

Sentencing Khan, Judge Durham Hall acknowledged that he did not corrupt the girl or ply her with alcohol and cigarettes. He also had no convictions for any similar offences.

After the case, Detective Constable Jazz Gill, of Bradford South CID, said: “This case indicates our continued determination in removing those within our communities who prey on the young and vulnerable.

“Ahmed and Khan both used their position of trust as an adult to take advantage of their victim.

“Both have reached the depths of depravity in their actions and I hope today's outcome offers some justice to the families involved.”
