Extrinsic vs Intrinsic Motivation - The Sport In Mind – SPORT PSYCHOLOGY

Extrinsic vs Intrinsic Motivation - The Sport In Mind – SPORT PSYCHOLOGY | national classes | Scoop.it

Extrinsic motivation is ‘external’: people – in this case athletes – are driven to succeed by factors from outside i.e. money, prizes, acclaim, status, praise. Intrinsic motivation comes from within i.e. an athlete driven by a need to succeed because they want to be the best and are not overly concerned by financial or ego boosts

ACC Human Performance/Health Sciences: No Train No Gain - TRAINING PRINCIPLES & METHODS

ACC Human Performance/Health Sciences: No Train No Gain - TRAINING PRINCIPLES & METHODS | national classes | Scoop.it
“ Intensity- n. the extreme magnitude or amount of strength, force, energy, or feeling that something has. The word, intensity, is commonly used by people to describe the degree to which something is challenging or difficult, just like the dictionary defines it as. This is no different when it comes to describing a workout. Many people run in the other direction when they hear the words, “vigorous exercise” or “intense workout”. No pun intended. However, in the fitness world, the word intensity is used for different purposes. Further, the benefits of participating in regular vigorous exercise are becoming more and more apparent. ”
