5 Critical Mistakes Schools Make With iPads (And How To Correct Them) | Nambrok MARC Scheme | Scoop.it

Creating Book Trailers with iPads

Creating Book Trailers with iPads | Nambrok MARC Scheme | Scoop.it

"We all know how traditional book reports work: read a book, then write a summary to prove you read the book. I have had to drag them out of my students in the past and can relate because teachers had to drag them out of me.

So what is a Book Trailer? It’s simply an advertisement for a book. Like a movie trailer, it highlights story elements without giving everything away to entice your interest."

Creating My Own Book Trailer

Creating My Own Book Trailer | Nambrok MARC Scheme | Scoop.it

"I was working with 3rd graders on creating their own book trailers. It was a long-term project and I was thrilled with the trailers I had found to study with children. This seemed perfect for this grade level as book response is a part of their writing curriculum.

I believe strongly in Study-Driven/Inquiry-Based writing instruction. I live by Katie Ray's quote from her book STUDY DRIVEN, which is one of the books that has most influenced my life as a writing teacher."

By Sarah Rich:

"Chesterfield County, Va., libraries challenges teens to go on the iHunt."

"As a way to teach teens about library resources, the Chesterfield County, Va., public libraries gave them a challenge: Solve problems with the help of quick response (QR) codes.

At the Chesterfield County Public Library, QR codes were deemed a fitting technology to use for teaching teens information about the county libraries."
