Writing Process Blog Hop

Writing Process Blog Hop | My Sweet Delirium | Scoop.it

I was giddy when my Twitter bud, Susan Kicklighter (a woman who makes me literally LMAO on a daily basis) tagged me for this writing process blog hop. I confess, I’m dying to have an excuse to talk about writing.

I live in the mountains in a foreign country with a few pets who just don’t get as excited about literature as I do. My human companions politely smile at me like I’m a mental patient and change the subject.

7.7.7 Challenge: The Sculptor

7.7.7 Challenge: The Sculptor | My Sweet Delirium | Scoop.it
What is the 7-7-7 Challenge, you ask? You go to page 7 of your WIP, skip down to line 7 on that page, and then share the next 7 lines in your draft.

Okay. So that you’re not completely lost, let me explain to you a bit of what’s going on here in the 7.7.7 from my third book in The Sculptor series.

To put it plainly, Antoni (famous sculptor/mental case) and Ona (recovering addict/aspiring painter) went through some horrific shit in the second book. They were so traumatized by what they experienced that they’ve holed up in The Pendleton Estate, a mansion left to Antoni by his deceased adoptive parents. Antoni and Ona have been languishing there for almost a year, trying anything to get back into their artistic groove. They drink wine, listen to different composers, read great literature; but they’ve become dead inside and nothing inspires them. Ona’s agoraphobia is particularly extreme and is beginning to worry Antoni. Finally, he decides to get the two of them out of New Hope before their isolation and creative stagnation destroys them.

This snippet comes after Antoni asks Ona to go away with him.
