Jean Barr could have saved herself the trouble of writing this article. The whole thing could be summed up in two words - Bain Principle.


For those not familiar with the term, it takes its name from British Labour MP, Willy Bain, and refers to the principle that British Labour politicians are obliged to oppose progressive policies which they would otherwise favour if those policies are embraced by the Scottish National Party.

Sorry to see Kenny MacAskill go. And surprised that there is no cabinet position for Humza Yousaf. But Nicola Sturgeon has put together a strong team. We can surely celebrate the fact that she has so much talent to choose from. Especially when we contrast this with the opposition. But the less said about the odious Jakie Baillie, the better.
