Are You Making These 8 Content Marketing Mistakes?

Are You Making These 8 Content Marketing Mistakes? | My Scoops | Scoop.it

There are many misconceptions about how companies are “supposed” to implement content marketing. And in a perfect world, with a hefty marketing budget and infinite resources, all of us would execute content marketing the “right” way. Unfortunately, that often isn’t the case.

Dean Ryan G. Martin's insight:

"Mistake #5: Content Has To Be Perfect & Long" I agree. A 140-character tweet is a content. It's probably the shortest content but believe it, it can still attract attention - especially if it contains a link and photo.

Search vs Social: Where Should You Be Spending Your Advertising Budget? | My Scoops | Scoop.it
It’s a battle that is heating up (but has been going on for years).
Everyone seems to have a different opinion or way of looking at it.
So what’s the best way to spend your marketing budget; search engines or social media?

Paid ad spend has been strong in 2015, with the US market seeing 26% growth year on year, whilst growth in PPC budgets from existing users continues to grow at around 70% year on year (as way of contrast only 6% of businesses actually report using search advertising to drive website traffic).

Why Blog? The Benefits of Blogging for Business and Marketing

Why Blog? The Benefits of Blogging for Business and Marketing | My Scoops | Scoop.it

I had a co-worker email me the other day asking for a blog post about the benefits of business blogging.

"It's for a friend," she said.

Sure it was.

I told her I'd shoot over one of our up-to-date blog posts about why businesses should blog and ... I couldn't find one. Whoops. Quite the meta mistake.

So I'm doing it now. If you're trying to explain one of the core tenets of inbound -- business blogging -- to your boss, a co-worker, your mom at Thanksgiving, whomever, then send them this post. I hope it helps....

Not all small businessmen need a website. A website isn't a necessity considering all the online channels you can register to. All small businessmen need to learn how to blog though. Blogging needs to be a part of their daily routine. A blog is their online journal to build connections.

35 Stupendous Social Networking Facts and Stats

Though “social media” broadly encompasses a variety of platforms including blogs (WordPress, Medium, Tumblr), content sharing (YouTube, SlideShare, Instagram), and content curation (Scoop. It, Triberr, Paper.li), the term is nearly synonymous to many for the big social networks.

And with Google+ being deprecated, social networking now primarily means the “big three” of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, plus Pinterest now at #4.Here are a few highlights from the social networks stats and facts below:...

rodrick rajive lal's curator insight, August 20, 2015 6:07 AM

It is not surprising how important social networking platforms have become in the twenty-first century world. Surprisingly however is how people use particular sites. Take for example how while twitter is the favourite site for aspiring writers, journalists prefer facebook, similarly Pinterest is for marketing, while CEO's shun twitter. Linkedin is serious stuff, but ASK FM is a no no for serious ones!

How to Overcome Your Biggest Challenges in Content Marketing

How to Overcome Your Biggest Challenges in Content Marketing | My Scoops | Scoop.it

Brands today simply don't have the luxury of sitting back and hoping that their brand identity will be enough to bring customers their way. Not only is transparency increasingly important in the modern world of marketing, but consumers today demand increased interaction.

If your brand isn't able to deliver this type of interaction and transparency, it's likely that you'll fall behind the competition. And more often than not, the best way to meet such expectations is through content.

The goal of content marketing is to grow your audience, build trust, and establish relationships with prospective customers. Statistics reveal the importance of content in modern marketing - according to the CMO Council, 78% of consumers believe that a brand offering content desires to establish a relationship with them.

Marketing Profs further points out that after reading a brand’s content, 70% of consumers feel closer to that brand. Given such data, the importance of content in a robust marketing strategy cannot be denied.
