Material collected relates to the relationship between Irish emigrants and New York city, and the flow of emigrants and immigrants in both directions. As Irish the number of Irish immigrants increased in New York, publications appear which are sympathetic to those left behind. Despite the influx of Irish immigrants looking for a better life in Ireland, some New Yorkers still chose to move in the opposite direction.
