Good Grief! What Does the Brain Have to Do With It!

Grief has a neurophysiology to it! Grief, can  trigger activity in an area of the brain called the  nucleus accumbens. The nucleus accumbens is that  region of the brain that is  active when a person experiences feelings of reward. Yes it is really strange to think of grief in this way!  That is unless you know that the brain is determined to help you with all of your goals.  And what is grief but a longing for someone that you lost, something or someone who meant so much to you, and your brain/psyche know this. And our psyche is going to do everything it can to help us, even when it in effects is hurting us. That is why it keeps bringing this person to your mind. It thinks it is helping you.

It is the same process that is at work for other goal dircted behaviors for natural reinforcers of getting food, water, and also illicit drugs too!

Take it easy on yourself going through the grief process and remember their are 5 steps to it, so it isn't something that will be done soon. And each person goes through their way.  These precepts are contained in my book, and you will see them at work! Stand In Your Anointment - This Too Shall Pass! Available on Amazon.com; the link is provided below.

It is my hope to help you go through your grief on your own terms, especially widows and wodowers!  And I hope to provide an  understanding as to what is going on too. That is what this is all about, and of course my book too to help you have a real life example of what this grief thing is like and truthfully, how hard it was for me going through. This video is about the book too! Watch and enjoy!     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfOUVQFaxU0

And finally, take it easy with those New Year's Resolutions! They to have a neurophysiology to them! You can read about that in

Thinking Differently About New Year’s ResolutionsThe link to that follows:  http://blog.scoop.it/en/2012/12/31/2808/ All because I care! 'Till next we meet.  Louise Malbon-Reddix
