Maurvika Patnekar's insight:
The vision of a new kind of school: a school that is built around an ideal, a school that redefines what education is all about, is been my dream project. I would always say," I don't what I want to become, but I want to make a deep contribution in the field of education." SV's ideas on education and change, has truly impacted me in the deepest way. The strong belief that we are soon to embark into a new era in field of education lied in my heart for a very long time, but true nourishment came in through my work at Illumine. Through the Awakening program, I truly felt that this vision was no longer a dream, but something which we can make happen for real.
My city of Mumbai was attacked by terrorists and suddenly it seemed like terror is at my doorstep, every Indian, every Mumbaikar who went through the turmoil seemed like my own.The deep urge to do something for the country, for its state of affairs, to not seek solutions to a problem like terrorism at superficial level by joining rallies but seeking a deeper solution: somewhere it felt like an expansion of heart. The "aha" that the solution starts at education and attitude change somewhere took seed. I saw that I could make a difference and maybe this is space want to be in. This blog was my first attempt at publicly expressing myself, my voice. This particular post became a turning point for me and helped me recognized the power to bring about change that lies inside me.

Maurvika Patnekar's insight:
A person who always felt that "politics is not my cup of tea" and consciously disengaging myself from the same; exploring the possibility of "recognizing the sacred"(shraddha), especially in our democratic traditions, has opened up this space for me. Today, I see my role in politics as a representative member in the democratic process. I have not only registered for voting this year, I have also started reading up on current issues to make an informed choice. And in the midst of all the debate around leadership, I do have faith in democratic process of the country: a sentiment this article resonates.
A truthseeker I truly admire: J.Krishnamurti. Although his path seems so tough it is where I feel lies the answer to several of my deeper emotional turmoils. Fear, attachment, relationships: he deals with these subjects in a manner that brings out the truth seeker in me. When I am scared to see myself for who I am, his words are reminder to seek the truth...to see myself in the mirror of my own consciousness, to see my life for what it is...and to observe...to just be....to abandon analysis, to abandon escapism, defensiveness and truly just be..and most of the time discovering the 'truth' about myself (sans all complications) and accepting it; makes the way for the joyful journey of growth, change and evolution.
