andres felipe alzate's insight:

The article should go deeper in the information provided in order to give the readers a complete report of the benefits of Music Tourism in the UK. Information about the biggest festivals, music genres and visitors profiles could be very interesting in order to encourage future promoters or artists to become active in the music business.

Pros: as the government work closely with promoters and venue owners, more platforms and strategies will be created to deliver bigger and more creative opportunities to the music scene, not just in the UK, but in the world as they would become a reference for other countries.

Cons: while encouraging other cities (Eg Liverpool) to deliver strategies to gain local music tourism, market share would need to be splited with the new players, which in terms on revenue, will present a decrease.

andres felipe alzate's insight:

I completely agree on the article while stating the importance on having multilingual websites related to the biggest music festivals in the world, as international tourists represent not just a 6% of the attendance, but a 20 % of the revenue. Music festivals websites and ticketing companies must be international friendly. In addition, I believe they should also deliver relevant information (housing, eating and, transportation) in order to be more effective in terms of logistics.
