A Mil Besos De Profundidad @PabloPretanas: La Substancia y la Flor | Music & relax | Scoop.it

But flowers distill´d, though they with winter meet,

Leese but their show; their substancestill lives sweet.

(William Shakespeare)

- See more at: http://pretanasblog.blogspot.com.es/2014/08/la-substancia-y-la-flor.html#sthash.DFlun4pd.8zwDd5th.dpuf

Cranach Digital Archive

Cranach Digital Archive | Music & relax | Scoop.it

The Cranach Digital Archive (cda) is an interdisciplinary collaborative research resource, providing access to art historical, technical and conservation information on paintings by Lucas Cranach (c.1472 - 1553), his sons and his workshop. The repository presently provides information on more than 1,000 paintings including c. 10,000 images and documents from 127 contributing institutions.

Started in 2009 the project is in its second phase (2012 - 2014). In this period the cda aims to expand the existing network, to develop the shared infrastructure and to increase its content in order to build the foundations for an innovative, comprehensive and collaboratively produced repository of knowledge about Lucas Cranach and his workshop that will be significantly different from the traditional model of the single-author catalogue raisonné.

The Cranach Digital Archive is a joint initiative of the Stiftung Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf and Cologne Institute of Conservation Sciences / Cologne University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with nine founding partner institutions, 18 associate partners and many project contributors. The project is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

I don't usually do this but I reacted quite strongly to the premise made in this video about three "new" ways of thinking that will shape leaders into the next century.

At best, the speaker has verified some classic themes that are covered in most if not all of the traditional leadership development programs that exist today.

Below are the 3 main "breakthroughs" that I heard from the speaker and my thoughts on how I have learned and practiced these "new" leadership themes.

1. Leaders see beyond the current situation and prepare for upcoming  change...  This is what scenario planning is ALL about.

* Scenario Planning accounts for many factors that may combine in complex ways to create surprising futures.  This has been written about and practiced for DECADES.

2. A diverse network...  Hummm...  I think this is what most HR departments are trying to instill in their organizations.

Now, if the speaker had gotten into the immense difficulty of going from diverse to inclusive, I would have given her this one.  But, no, just more talk about how we need to work and understand people who think differently than we think.  Not new...

3. Courage to make a change and persistence to stay the course while others are telling you it is not going to work.  Hummmm...  Really?  This is NOT covered in the current leadership development programs?

I usually scoop content that I feel is helpful, not this time.  If you are new to leadership development, maybe this is worthwhile.  If you are educated in leadership, take the 10 minutes and practice how to provide honoring feedback.
