It's not a music streaming service, and Twitter isn't (directly) selling music with it. It's a music discovery service, similar in a way to Pandora, but leveraging the vast Twitter community that, as we all know, often takes to Twitter to discuss music or interact with favorite musicians.

Success Music™'s insight:

Twitter is trying to get in the music business to get more artists and uses to visit Twitter.

Pro: Twitter is now trying to be in connection with the music industry too.this is great because people will stay more time on Twitter to do somthing they like

Con: Twitter is way behind Facebook when it comes to spend more time on it. So Twitter is trying to make room for people that are tired of Facebook.

Twitter is now trying to be in connection with the music industry too. This is because they want people to stay more time in their web-page and reveal more about themselves. Twitter falls far behind facebook when it's about time spent on the platform. So twitter is trying to make that gap with facebook shorter.

iTunes Radio has 27 million songs and it has sold over 9 million units with iTunes Radio. The competition of apple in this industry is Pandora, that has about 1 million songs but 42% of the current iTunes users are pandora users too.

Joanne Castillo's curator insight, January 14, 5:24 PM

This article gives input on the success of Apple's iTunes Radio and how it has a competitive advantage over Pandora and other streaming services.

Pros - Apples negotiated their deals directly with the labels which gave the company some exclusive content.  Other streaming services do not have the access that iTunes radio has.

Cons - A con to iTunes radio is that it lacks connectivity to social media.  A listener must post a link manually to their social media site of the playlist he/she listened to.

Alexandria Kristian Marisa Jordan's curator insight, January 18, 10:34 AM

After reading this article, I knew about the Pros and Cons of iTunes Radio but not to this extent. For example I never knew that negotiate deals with the record label to get a better deal which entails more exclusive music for iTunes Radio.

Pro: exclusive deals with the record label and can get more music than other streaming services.

Con: Other streaming services are earning more money because of advertisements.
