Dear, Jordan Winston

During this time I have been going through so interesting times in my life so far since I have left you. I have discovered many new things that changed mine any others around me dramatically. We all lived in era called the great depression. This era was very tough time living wise because, our economy was going through a horrible drought. In so many words we were loosing money. As a result, Americans were in debt. Farmers wasn’t able to buy tractors and many of there equipment they needed use for themselves.  Europeans demand crops from us, which left us with nothing to use for ourselves. They tried to give us surpluses, but were unable to sell it to the bank. Farmers were mostly damage by the great depression. They were forced to sell land, unable pay their debts, they only lives off credit, and were unable to buy consumer goods. When I first moved down here I wasn’t expecting none of theses events to occur in my life. I wanted to start my future off meeting new people and making a nice amount of money to live on.  But I don’t know how I’m suppose do that if jobs our not able to pay us? Natural disasters also played a major factor in this time period. Dust Bowls was the major storms that hurt everybody’s conditions to live. Many farmers’ lands were ruined and were unable to produce goods and help others with doing that. Dust Bowls were scary to be around. They were similar to tornadoes but, after the storm was finished, it left a mess of red dust on everything in sight. Most of schools were damage bye the storm so therefore students were forced to homeschooled. I was told that this storm was one of the deadly storms when I first moved down here.  I really didn’t believe it at first but now I can finally say that this one is crazy. Stock market was a major issue during this era. Many investors were gambling to improve shares. As they were borrowing margins, the stock market crashed. Stock investors began to loose confidence within the market and began to sell their own stocks. Back home we have a black Friday. Down here they have a black Tuesday. Investors try to sell their stocks quickly because the prices are dropped which gave hope in some way. The mass selling caused panic and wiped out fortunes. African Americans were treated different from because of their skin color. When they were all down bout something, they turned to the Creative genre called Jazz. Jazz is a mix many cultures that started its come up in the 1920’s and became in the 1930’s from what I hear. I had a chance to listen to the music, and I must say that I enjoy it pretty much. I can relate to the music in a lot ways. If I had a chance to send some samples of the music I would. It’s really interesting. So far my experience in the era has been a life experience for me. When come back to visit I will probably look different to you but I’m still same person, personality wise. Some things really irks my nerves is the hate other people show one of each other. To me it doesn’t matter what color you are, we are the same in my eyes. But in the near future I can see the world crumbling due a bad economy if we don’t straighten up help change the world. I don’t want to see anybody to go through what these people went through because the future students need to see light not darkness. Stocks are not what kids need to worry about in the morning when they wake up. if become as one and help now, it will not happen. i just wanted to let you know that im fine and i will visit soo.

                                                                         Sincerely,

                                                                                           Jay
