"Subscription music services have been dominating the news recently with the U.S. launch of Spotify and the new IHeartRadio, plus free offerings from MOG and RDIO, and the recent purchase of Napster by Rhapsody. There is a sea change occurring in all content industries moving towards streaming and subscription rather than ownership, and this transition has been causing a lot of debate and disagreement about the potential and the fairness of this new model of consumption."

The App Is the New Album (Or Something Like That...) | Music business | Scoop.it

"If you think the album is dead, then maybe you're not truly living! Just look at the millions of vinyl devotees, or digital album sales surges for signs of life!

luis leano's curator insight, October 13, 2013 1:41 PM

This source is reliable to producers in the audio industry due to the fact that it is about a very popular app used by artists to sell and share music. The app allows artists to share music to followers and fans as well as provide links to itunes and amazon for them to buy. This relates to my topic because it talks about a social network where artists interact with fans and other  artists to share music and opinions.
