Timothy Skorri Correll's curator insight, January 19, 1:59 AM

While having multiple Genres does make it easier to classify bands and their diversity, as well as find artists you may like based on similar sounds and structure. It also makes it much harder to find out just how many genres are out there today, and which genre's are similar. The original Genres; Rock, Pop, Classical, Jazz, etc.

As the article states. "Rock is only slightly better than 'Play me some songs that are music."

The list of Genres has become so diluted with sub-genres. Most of which don't really make sense to begin with.

I personally am a big fan of Spotify, and I think it's great that they've removed time limits. However it's not totally relevant to me since I've never had time restrictions on my account.
Joanne Castillo's curator insight, January 19, 1:54 PM

As a consumer, I feel that it is great that there are no more time limits for Spotify.  I prefer Spotify over Pandora because of the sound quality; however, I still use Pandora because of the unlimited time limit.

This article explains how vevo recieved 7.2 billion views on youtube in 2013. Anybody anywhere in the world can access youtube via phone, tablet, computer, etc. to listen and watch music videos on vevo. This is one youtube company that uses youtube to spread music videos. This relates to my article greatly because it shows how even the music industry has been affected by youtube and the internet.
