According to John Hirai, who heads music for YouTube Japan & Korea, the deal with VEVO is likely to be renewed for at least a few more years, if it hasn't been already. "There are some things that were written in the press that are not entirely true, because I've been involved in the negotiations myself," Hirai said recently at MU:CON in Seoul, South Korea."

Adam Allison's curator insight, May 13, 10:16 PM

Its great to see that people are getting credit for thier original work. However more and more people are copy cats. They just want fame they have no sens of who they are. They want to be someone else. This is destroying the art of creativity and the online music scene is all about doing thigns to become famous as opposed to contrinuting to the music industry.

OK Go: YouTube Revenues Are 'Like Finding Change On the Street...' | Music business | Scoop.it

"OK Go is one of the most successful bands in YouTube history. Yet despite more than a hundred million plays, YouTube alone is hardly generating any substantive revenue for the group. "I can speak to an artist who gets a lot of traffic, which is OK Go," manager Jamie Kitman told a SF MusicTech Summit audience last week. "And I would say that 'trickle' is the operative word, in terms of revenue we receive from places like YouTube and VEVO.""
