Spotify Partners with Sony to Launch Playstation-Based Music Service | Music business | Scoop.it
Spotify and Sony Network Entertainment International have partnered to launch PlayStation Music, allowing all 64 million PlayStation Network users to integrate their Spotify accounts, with their living room consoles. Users can now import their Spotify settings to Playstations 3 and 4 and Xperia smartphones and tablets. Spotify's music (30 million songs and 1.5 billion playlists, to be exact) will also be available for streaming during game-playing.

Jay Z has set his sights on buying Aspiro, the Swedish parent company of two subscription streaming services, WiMP and TIDAL. The offer of 464 million Swedish krona, or $56.2 million, represents a 59.1 percent premium over yesterday's closing share price. It was announced by Aspiro early this morning and has already been accepted. Trading of Aspiro stock was up 76 percent on the news this morning, to 0.08 per share.
