Rdio follows Spotify's suit, now streams unlimited free web tunes in US
TechRadar UK
Music streaming service Rdio won't carry a pesky time limit on how long you can listen to songs for free through its US website, the company has announced.
Sunny Park's insight:

The article explains how Rdio follows Spotify's suit. Rdio announced that all users can listen to songs with unlimited streaming. Users of Rdio Free and Rdio Unlimited can listen on a computer. However, Rdio only lets Rdio users listen to songs via mobile phones. The different between Rdio and Spotify is Rdio users still have to pay money to listen to songs for unlimited streaming. I think Rdio users might like what Rdio is doing and preparing; however, other people might not like it. Also, I think if Rdio brings totally different and better ideas and not following Spotify's suit, Rdio can earn money more. As a result, I do not like how Rdio follows Spotify's suit.

However, new idea of streaming service of Beats Music is that users can personalize their song by adding to their profile. Also, Beats Music lets users to get a custom mix. I believe that users who like Dr.Dre or hip-hop will use this music streaming service more. However, users have to pay money montly for the subscription. For me, I might not use this music streaming service.

Why Apple Is Getting Into the Music Streaming Business | Music Business (Streaming Music Service) | Scoop.it

Sunny Park's insight:

The article explains "Why" apple is getting into the Music Streaming Business in thesedays because Steve Jobs did critics on streaming music. However, the article says that apple is in final negotiations with internet radio service similar to Pandora for launching music streaming. I understand that Apple wants to make money and launch music streaming service such Pandora or Spotify, I think it is money-losing business. Apple may lose money because people will not buy and download music from iTuens. However, if I think differently, Apple can have a great success on music streaming business. The reason is that I believe that Apple will make it better than other streaming platforms. The best thing is we have to wait until Apple finally launches music streaming service.

Sunny Park's insight:

The article explains that Google launched the music streaming sevice and lets users to listen to unlimited songs. All users have to pay fee for a month for unlimited songs. Google adopted streaming music model ahead of Apple. The music streaming service includes milions of tracks from Universal Music and etc. I think Google must be responsible for losing money or not earning much money. The reason is that there are so many music streaming services that people can listen to songs. However, I believe that because Google is a huge company, people will use a lot. Also, Google pioneered online music purchase with iTunes. So, I think when Google completes launching streaming music service, people will use.

Xander Chamberlain's curator insight, September 11, 2013 11:14 PM

I think it would be a waste of time if Google tried coming out with another music streaming service. The article itself says that there is nothing unique about the service that Google is going to provide. However, if the service offered video or game content in addition to the music, I think the Google service would do relatively well in comparison with Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, and Apple's planned release.

Clint Sing's curator insight, January 15, 2014 6:21 PM

This is very great for Google, beacuse this will give Google more business. Alot of people love being able to get music instantly to their device.

EungKyun Kim's curator insight, April 13, 2014 11:33 PM

Google is the one of the most popular company in the entertainment industry. It is very interesting that Google launched streaming music service. Spotify and Pandora are the most influential music streaming service from now. However, I think that the fact Google got into music streaming industry, as well as Apple, will change the trend in the industry.
