Dr. Doris Molero's insight:
We need your help to make this book a reality. It carries the work of love and hope in messages of 10.000 people from all over the world. Help make it happen.. Let's stand for a global culture of peace.
The focus of this book is on practical activities which can help to nurture, develop and motivate our students.
The activities will help teachers to explore the role of creativity in the classroom both in the sense of helping students to express their unique creative identity and also by helping them to think about and use language in a creative way. The activities are suitable for a broad range of students from young to old and from low to higher levels and can be used alongside your existing syllabus and course materials to enhance your students’ experience of learning English.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, abbreviated as CEFR or CEF, is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and, increasingly, in other countries (for example, Colombia and the Philippines). It was put together by the Council of Europe as the main part of the project "Language Learning for European Citizenship" between 1989 and 1996. Its main aim is to provide a method of learning, teaching and assessing which applies to all languages in Europe. In November 2001, a European Union Council Resolution recommended using the CEFR to set up systems of validation of language ability.
There are two main theories of Second Language Acquisition (SLA):
Processability theory This theory states the language processor in our brains acquires language items in a certain developmental order. Processability theory suggests learners have a kind of internal syllabus allowing them to learn some language items before others. This means that trying to teach a language form before learners are ready for it could result in the learners being unable to acquire the form. At the same time, learners will produce a range of incorrect variants while trying to use the most complicated form before they’re ready (for example: ‘What she seen?’ instead of ‘What has she seen?’). Processability theory appreciates the fact that learners will follow different developmental trajectories, since their internal syllabi vary. At the same time, it is interesting to note that learners with different L1 backgrounds tend to learn in a similar order in this area.
Complexity Theory Complexity Theory states language learners do not process language in a computational way. Language learning is dynamic and involves constant change, with a variety of influences – but what does this mean in a classroom environment?
Each learner is different and has different language needs. Each learner’s interlanguage is different (and often surprising). Learning is not a neat, step by step process. Learners can often take one step forward and two steps back as they adapt and restructure their interlanguage. Together, the two theories provide quite a full picture of language learning.
How can speaking skills be improved rather than just practised? In the second of this week’s webinars, Cambridge English Empower co-author, Adrian Doff, offers solutions and activities to develop students’ speaking skills and improve their natural communication.
Telling stories, discussion, personal experiences, and role-play are just some of the activities teachers use to develop students’ speaking skills. All these activities help with language practice, but how can we actually improve students’ speaking skills?
Educators: If you are looking into the Hypergrid as a place to try using virtual worlds for instruction, Simvalley is an educator-friendly grid that offers free land and good entry level on-boarding for incoming students.

The internet changed everything. What about education? How can we supercharge learning by leveraging the opportunities of the Digital Age? In a series of video blog posts collected here for the first time, one of the nation’s leading education thinkers — Howard Rheingold — presents his take on what’s now being called Connected Learning, a learning approach designed for our times.

Returning to the Dreams Dome For SL12B i decided to bring back the Childhood Dreams Dome in part because many new friends never got a chance to see it, and also because i was interested to see how i would tackle the project now that i can use Mesh, better scripting and Experience Tools.
Before you simply read and clicked signs to get the story. This time story pops up as you walk around, so there is no clicking needed.
As for rebuilding all the models in mesh rather than prims, some stuff is more detailed and how i originally envisioned them to be. Other stuff is pretty much the same as it was since i didn’t want it to be to different from the original. While the build does not push the limits of Second Life content creation, the new Experience Tools allows the story to take centre stage.
Anyways i hope everyone who visits has a great time. Happy 12th Anniversary Second Life and i look forward to the coming years as there is still plenty to explore and do there.
English as a Second Language is also known as English for speakers of other languages ( ESOL), English as an additional language ( EAL) and as English as a foreign language ( EFL). The precise usage, including the different use of the terms ESL and ESOL in different countries, is described below.

What a wonderful opportunity to [try to] be concise about the world I love so much. 12 years old [and counting] and full of creative people from all over the...
Dr. Doris Molero's insight:
"I just like making things and see how other people enjoy them!" summarizes virtual entrepreneur Nylon Pinkney her enthusiasm about her work in Second Life.
Over 10 years now she has been shaping SL culture through her unique art and products: not only clothing and wacky accessories like the wiggling wedding cake are on offer, Nylon has also dabbled in Machinima as well as offering custom SL/RL portraits.
Prominent fans such as US comedian Drew Carey frequently profess their admiration for her on social media sites, but Nylon Pinkney does not see herself as a celebrity:
"When I discovered Second Life in my early twenties what got me hooked was the fact that I can be my own boss, that I can be authentic and when people actually started to buy my stuff - which is so different than the usual Barbie & Ken type products at the time - it felt really good!"
And in response to the negative perception of a virtual "anything goes" universe in some quarters Nylon takes a common sense approach: "Flickr can be pretty weird if you look for that stuff, but it also has beautiful art. Same is true for Second Life: where ever you want to go!"
This video was shot entirely on Tableau in Second Life
Special thanks to Marianne McCann for managing extra actors on the ground & big thanks to all the background talent who showed up on time and so patiently followed my tedious directions.
You know who you are: an integral part of the team!
