Hola, a todos! La invitación es para que participen en SLmooc 2014. Un mooc en Second Life. Es en Inglés y en Español. El tema central es aprender y conectarse en línea para aprender y enseñar en mundos virtuales. En especial en Second Life.

Educadores de diferentes partes del mundo estarán compartiendo sus experiencias en mundos virtuales Y cómo podemos utilizarlos en situaciones de enseñanza mixta (blended learning) Donde combinamos los elementos en línea con la experiencia cara a cara en el salón de clase tradicional.

Se contará con la ayuda de todos y se ofrecerán tutoriales, clases y tours a los principiantes. La idea es conectarse y funcionar como comunidad de práctica. Las sesiones ocurrirán de manera asincrónica (moodle) y sincrónica en (WizIQ & Second Life) con grabaciones, ademas de Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo,pinterest, Facebook y Twitter.

 

Tenemos tres areas de mayor interaccion: El area de curso en WizIQ, Nuestro centro en Second Life, y Moodle for Teachers (M4T)Moodle website. En el curso en WIzIQ tendremos sesiones en vivo y grabadas, así como también los tutoriales (courseware) las discusiones diarias en (coursefeed).

 

A diferencia de los cursos tradicionales basados en el dictado de cursos de contenidos, el SLmooc se basa en el aprendizaje reflexivo, activo de compartir, conectarse y colaborar. El logro para el participante es el de aprender  a través de conexiones significativas en la interacción social.

Para recibir su certificado, se requiere que el participante lleve un record de su participación en un wiki o blog o sitio web u otro ambiente que sea de su agrado. 

 

Aca tienen las diferentes areas y herramientas que tenemos para conectarnos y aprender de manera activa y significativa.

The InterCultural Resource pack (ICRP) presented here is intended to be shared among the whole ELT community, for everybody to benefit from it. All of you are invited to download the entire by clicking in the image below. It would be great if you could all give us feedback on the activities in the pack as you use them.

We are interested in both “process” and “product” info, i.e. results of the activities in terms of content. It will also be of great help for all to know the adaptations you’ve made to use them in your contexts.

Our idea is to pool all these results together in each Intercultural Voices post.  

You and your students are invited to interact in the forum. It´d be wonderful to hear our intercultural voices!

Teaching Unplugged is the term used for a teaching method and philosophy which has three primary aims: teaching through conversation, taking out external input such as course book and technology and letting the lesson content be driven by the students rather than being pre-planned by the teacher. Based on the ‘Dogme ELT’ approach to teaching, its origins lie in an article written in 2001 by Scott Thornbury and Luke Meddings called ‘The roaring in the chimney’. They later wrote ‘Teaching Unplugged’, a comprehensive guide to this type of teaching and winner of the British Council ELTons award for Innovation in 2010.

DISEÑO INSTRUCCIONAL EN UN ENTORNO DE APRENDIZAJE ABIERTO

La investigación Diseño Instruccional en un Entorno de Aprendizaje Abierto, presenta una propuesta metodológica para la construcción de módulos en un entorno virtual; a partir de un modelo que abarca tres perspectivas a saber: desde la estructura lógica y física basada en la metodología desarrollada por Cisco Systems, relacionada con los Objetos de Aprendizaje Reutilizables y desde las perspectivas pedagógica y comunicativa, se fundamenta en la teoría de diseño instruccional Entornos de Aprendizaje Abiertos referenciada por Charles M. Reigeluth.
La articulación de la tecnología, la pedagogía y la comunicación, permite reflexionar sobre los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje, para no trasladar didácticas y recursos utilizados en la educación presencial a una plataforma tecnológica, sino para identificar métodos útiles en una situación particular, con

Design principles of educational virtual worlds for preschoo children

Abstract
This thesis studies the design principles of educational virtual worlds for pre-school children. It examines the culture and contextualization of the virtual worlds for children used for the purpose of informal education through learning games in the case study of JumpStart World Kindergarten. The theoretical background provides an overview of the historical development of educational virtual worlds based on the progression of MUDs, MOOs and MMORPG. In addition, the issues in implementation and adaptation of information and communication technologies (ICT) as part of educational methodologies are examined, thus a perspective is given of possible problems and solutions for optimization of use of virtual worlds as an alternative way for acquiring knowledge with a constructionist approach. In the second part of the study, the design principles of virtual worlds are elaborated by framing the technical aspects, content, virtual world typology and user types thus mapping educational virtual worlds between other genres of virtual worlds. The design principles, as well as the cultural and social aspect of educational virtual worlds provide a base for the analysis of the pedagogical approach of JumpStart World Kindergarten. In this section a qualitative and quantitative study of this virtual world’s game-play, characteristics and learning games was made. The results indicated the pedagogical problems in the implementation of the learning by doing theory, thus proving that this model is not well adapted to the interactive method of learning where a player learns most efficiently by meaningful interaction and personal constructivist experience.

El concepto de comunidades de práctica en una conceptualización dinámica y no individualista del fenómeno del aprendizaje, donde el aprendizaje se describe como una actividad social y situacional, orientado a la participación de la gente en la práctica social. El concepto de “comunidad de práctica” se refiere a las perspectivas particulares de fenómenos tales como el conocimiento y las habilidades y entornos de aprendizaje y de las organizaciones. Por extensión, el término también a las disposiciones específicas y enfoques a las comunidades y grupos sociales.
