The New York Public Library just released a treasure trove of digitized public domain images, everything from epic poetry from the 11th century to photographs of used car lots in Columbus, Ohio from the 1930s. Over 180,000 manuscripts, maps, photographs, sheet music, lithographs, postcards, and other images were released online Wednesday in incredibly high resolution, and are available to download using the library's user-friendly visualization tool. It's a nostalgist's dream come true.

You shouldn't miss Adobe Spark which is a great free app (for browsers or iOS devices) for creating either attractive image posters with text, visual stories with multiple pages, or videos with your voice comments or soundtrack in the background.

Pinterest: Everything You Need to Know About the Hottest Niche Site [INFOGRAPHIC]

Pinterest: Everything You Need to Know About the Hottest Niche Site [INFOGRAPHIC] | Multimedia Journalism | Scoop.it

I rescooped this from my topic Pinterest Watch, because I feel this infographic really gives you some insight into what's really happening on Pinterest and it's definitely something I want to bring to your attention.

If it makes sense, this site is a great mix in your marketing efforts. Niche sites, especially ones that are visual with less text are becoming more popular everyday and Pinterest is definitely leading the way. Take a quick look at what's happening.......

Intro:

"How fast is Pinterest growing? How many people work there? This infographic lays it out.

**Pinterest has emerged as the runaway social media hit of early 2012. You probably knew that already. But did you know the company just has 12 people? Or that 97% of Pinterest’s Facebook fans are women?

**Lemon.ly, a visual marketing firm, took a deep dive into the data to catalog Pinterest’s stunning rise and produced the infographic below.

**What’s clear is that with 10 million users, Pinterest has already made its mark in terms of web design influence, if nothing else.

https://findings.com/ seems to be quite interesting, too. Kind of quotes community.

November's focus for Soical Biz is IMAGES (following the focus on Pinterest in October). There are some really helpful free tools available to help any entrepreneur, image-challenged or not, make an impact at image hungry social sites e.g. Pinterest, Facebook and Google+. There's no doubt images draw attention and drive visibility and traffic.
