"Dr. Akassoglou has focused on the role of the blood-brain barrier leak in MS and has discovered that leakage of the blood clotting protein fibrinogen can trigger brain inflammation," said Ursula Utz, Ph.D., M.B.A., a program director at NIH's National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).


I am very happy there is contineous research in this area. I know there have been studies done showing possible nerve damage as the possible reason to MS onset.

This is a bit dated but what are you toughts on this? I've spent quite a bit of time on researching this and it seems very promising. Different studies come up with different results and yet there are more and more people with MS who are diagnosed with CCSVI who benefit from PTA and Angioplasty theraphy.
