More statistics and references to reports from the well respected Pew Project team about how reliant Teens are on mobile technology. More importantly however the post makes the point that that students use their phones as a social device as opposed to other devices such as tablets. Another key point the post makes is that these "screenagers" don't need adults to learn how to use screens and associated tools and patterns which poses a significant challenge to traditional methods of instruction. Schools ".....need to adapt of fail to be relevant"

There are thousands of videos on Youtube today that illustrate the bewildering intuition that young children seem to display when using iPads.

Pew Internet Research Center recently released a report which outlined the effect that 1,021 respondents believed ‘hyperconnectivity’ will have on this generation’s ability to comprehend complex issues in depth and stay focused on the same topic for extended periods of time."
