Research shows that mind maps (graphic organizers) are effective during all stages of learning. You can use them as an introduction to a unit, during the unit for continued note taking, or at the conclusion as a formative assessment to make sure your students truly understand the material.

Maybe this is something that you've always wanted to do? Have your iPad apps organized in alphabetical order. This would be a nightmare for me (a visual learner) as more often than not I don't necessarily know the name of the app but I know what the icon looks like (or the folder that I have put it into). I choose to organize my apps into folders eg ABC's, Word Work, Nurturing Thinking etc. Keep in mind though I use my device predominantly for 'modelling' and to inform others so I have hundreds (did I say hundreds.....my 64gb device is almost full AGAIN).
If though, you have individual devices assigned to your classroom that are not jam packed with too many Apps, this may be just the thing for you!

I definitely understand - my 32 GB iPad is completely full. I have to keep deleting and reinstalling the apps that I do need to use.

One of the items I have on my mile long list of summer is to explore iTunes U as an option for my online and face-to-face pre-service course Technology in the Classroom. Thanks to this share by Jon Samuelson I may move this item closer to the top of the list. Guidance is always nice! Delete the scoop?

Jeff Dunn from Edudemic is oversighting this listly list of iOS apps. Viewers are asked to crowd rank from the list by voting for their faves and anyone can add to the list from a Listly account. This could be really useful though may become a little overwhelming after time. Maybe it may be useful to also develop sub-lists eg subject based??
