More holes in Sugata Mitra’s ‘Hole-in-Wall’ project | Moving Education Forward | Scoop.it

At the E-learning Africa Conference, where I gave a keynote, workshop and debate contribution, I met practitioner after practitioner who welcomed by more sober view of the project. They too were skeptical as all the evidence they had suggested that teacher involvement was vital. Person after person shook my hand saying how glad they were that someone was standing up to the hype.

Here is a critical article of 'Build a school in the cloud'. The hype created by the 'hole in the wall' scheme appears to have been hyjacked by kids themselves.

Teachers are too busy to do the research and evaluate new technologies; and then try to apply it to classroom practice. I agree that it is essential we have a designated leader of digital technologies to illuminate the way forward.
