How local stresses control magma-chamber ruptures, dyke injections, and eruptions in composite volcanoes.

Soleyvic Barahona's insight:

This article explains how magma-chamber ruptures, dyke injections, and eruptions are controled by local stresses. During unrest periods composite volcanoes develop local stresses that arrest dykes and prevent eruptions. Due to the findings it is important to monitore the stress of volcanoes to detmerine the probability of dyke-fed eruptions. I will use this article to explain how composite volcanoes work.
