An announcement late last week by the Facebook media team may have been overlooked by many marketers, but it has intriguing ramifications.


Facebook announced that it would effectively allow any organization with a verified page to publish brand-sponsored content without asking Facebook for explicit permission first, provided that content was tagged to the brand. They said:


"Today we're updating our branded content policy to enable verified Pages to share branded content on Facebook. Along with changes to our branded content policy and ads policy, we're offering a new tool that makes it easy for publishers and influencers to tag a marketer when they publish branded content. Publishers and influencers must use this tag for all branded content shared on Facebook."

In this fast paced world of social media marketing, businesses must be able to stay afloat when it comes to content. One of the reasons why people lose a lot of their fan base or audience is because businesses start lacking in interesting content. This article goes on to explain some ways in which you can start to appeal to customers more. One common way to keep your audience’s attention is by providing a problem and then a solution as well. By doing so, you are making it seem like you are really passionate about the topic and are willing to come up with different ways to fix. Always make sure to try and understand what your crowd likes to see or what they are interested in, so you can stay relevant. Another way of getting more of people’s attention or interest is by telling a “fascinating story” that is compelling, short, and/or informative. Keep in mind that not every single person in your target market will share your intelligence; by writing in short cohesive paragraphs as if you were talking to a “twelve” year old, you will keep them entertained.

As smartphones’ share of mcommerce sales continues to rise, tablets’ share will continue to fall. This year, tablets will capture 50.6% of mcommerce sales, with that figure falling to 48.7% next year. For perspective, mcommerce this year will represent 32.0% of all ecommerce sales, but just 2.6% of total retail sales....

"A lot of times the ROI of social media is qualitative. Meaning, it’s difficult to measure because what you’re measuring in social media is more about the relationships and connections that you make.

 

The reason people choose to share is usually for one of 3 reasons:

 

  1. It’s self identity. Much like picking the kind of car we drive or the coffee we drink, picking the things we share is a way to self identify ourselves.
  2. Acts of generosity and kindness. We share because we are motivated to do something nice for someone else.
  3. A symbol of love and support. Similar to an act of generosity, we share because we want to show our love and support."

Parmi les marques de luxe qui ont réussi leur digitalisation et le développement de leur activité en ligne, certaines d’entre elles souhaitent désormais aller plus loin dans leur démarche en développant leur activité à l’international pour toucher une nouvelle clientèle étrangère. A ce jour, la part du commerce électronique dans les produits de luxe est estimée à 7% au Royaume-Uni et 10% aux Etats-Unis. D’après un rapport McKinsey, la part des ventes en ligne dans le luxe devrait doubler de 6% à 12% d'ici à 2020 et tripler à 18% pour atteindre environ 70 milliards d'euros d'ici 2025.
