At Moodle, we aim to be the best tool for supporting education in any environment, with an emphasis on accessibility. As a free open source product, users can download direct from our site to experience the features of Moodle, or use one of the demo sites.

 

To experience the features, design and capability of Moodle in the latest version, you can enter one of our two sites. Choose to explore Moodle in action with Mount Orange School or play with Moodle’s standard features in sandbox. Both sites are reset to their  blank state every hour, on the hour, which allows anyone to alter, add, remove items in the platform and return to a clean slate every sixty minutes.

Moodle Mobile 1.5 Available in Google Play

New features:

* View your activity grades and outcomes (Requires configuration by the Moodle site administrator)

* New sign in and manage accounts page, quick access to all your sites


Improvements: 

* The Site URL field now supports domains without the http/https protocol prefix

* Notifications page design improved

* Messages received can be replied in-line

* Refresh now updates all information related to the site

* The help link in the menu now points to documentation matching the current site version

* App design polished and optimized, improved support for site themes

 

Fixes:

* Menu scrolling bad positioning issue fixed

* Upload options are only available now if the service has the "Allow upload of files” setting enabled (for Moodle 2.6 and onwards)

Moodle 2.7.1, 2.6.4, 2.5.7 and 2.4.11 are now available.

Moodle 2.7.1, 2.6.4, 2.5.7, and 2.4.11 are now available via the usual open download channels: http://download.moodle.org or Git.

In addition to a number of bug fixes and small improvements, security vulnerabilities have been discovered and fixed.  We highly recommend that you upgrade your sites as soon as possible. Upgrading should be very straightforward. As per our usual policy, admins of all registered Moodle sites will be notified of security issue details directly via email and we'll publish details more widely in a week.

Twice a year, in May and November, I have the privilege of announcing the latest major Moodle release that bundles up all the work from Moodle HQ and the whole community over the previous six months.

LTI is acroynm for (learning tool interactive) - yes, very vague, which means lots of options or LTI services that you can utilize.

On a conceptual level, moodle can act as either;

A LTI provider - where your moodle instance is serving up LTI services
A LTI consumer - where your moodle instance is consuming from another server, its content.

Moodle’s External Link resource is one of the most flexible in the educator’s/course creator’s tool belt. To date we’ve been using IMS Global’s LTI 1.1 standard to provide access from Moodle to an assortment of 3rd party tools(or even other Moodle sites). The value is an uncomplicated SSO system that provides the minimum amount of data required to allow students to work on a 3rd party system to interact, socialize, or even take a test.
