Top Moodle Plugins you Should Get to Know - Super Moodle

Top Moodle Plugins you Should Get to Know - Super Moodle | Moodlicious | Scoop.it

Moodle is a wildly, wildly popular LMS, and for obvious reasons. Offering the largest set of diverse features compared to other very task oriented and niche designs, Moodle brings an easily customized and diverse learning experience that allows the viewing of training in a whole new light. But, one of the big sellers of this LMS over other pretty equally competent solutions is the availability of Moodle plugins.

Moodle being open source, and with this readily developed plugin base as well, kind of pulls a Salesforce and offers theoretically boundless features. While there isn’t quite the slick App Exchange sort of channel here, Moodle plugins are quite extensive.

Top 4 Benefits of Using Moodle for your School - Why it Works as a Platform for Student-Teacher Interaction

Top 4 Benefits of Using Moodle for your School - Why it Works as a Platform for Student-Teacher Interaction | Moodlicious | Scoop.it
”The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change.”

– Carl Rodgers

The aforementioned quote rightly suffices the problem arising in prevalent education system. We have been cultivating ourselves since the early 19th century to use the ever changing and advancing technology. We have witnessed a revolution of “doing things” the novel way, which is through the use of technology but it is sad to know that our teaching or educating methods are still the traditional practices of a chalkboard inside the four walls of a classroom.

People certainly make use of the information available over the internet but there is lack of creativity in the teaching methods. It has been found that students lack interest in lectures over long periods of time, feel anxious to put forward their views/opinions, are hesitant to even ask a question and the list extends on, this results into confused behavior and leads up to long hours of surfing of questions over the vast internet that are left unanswered. So what is the ultimate solution? There are no “un–answers” here. MOODLE is the ultimate answer to all students’ as well as teachers’ worries.

Badges and Moodle Part 2 - Mark DuBois Weblog | Moodlicious | Scoop.it
Here are the steps I went through (along with screen captures). In Illustrator, I created a new file with a single artboard. I really didn’t care that much about the size as I wanted to have something which would be roughly 150 x 150 pixels as a finished product. I just needed room to work. The end result is shown below. Note that it is a lot larger than the actual badges.

Game Logic in Moodle Overview

Game Logic in Moodle Overview | Moodlicious | Scoop.it

An attempt to create a better *PLE (personalized learning environment), drawing on the established editing game logic, for Moodle, is the aim of this project. The main underpinning principle includes activities and resources which are selected automatically by the computer and shown to the student.

PLE (personalized learning environment) enables students to make progress at their own pace (affording achievement and/or attainment).Gaming involves advancing across a game whereby there is a sense of choice, freedom and control for the player. This means the learner has an opportunity to progress along individual learning trajectories at their own pace and chosen level/pitch.

The following table highlights the relationship between key definitions and gaming for learning and teaching with Moodle.

New Microsoft Office 365 open source integration with Moodle transforms education technology

The open source Office 365 and Microsoft Services plugins for Moodle include integration with OneDrive for Business, OneNote and Office 365 Outlook calendar. The integration allows students and instructors, as well as enterprise users, to sign on to Moodle with the same ID, making single sign-on easier and faster for education institutions and other Moodle users with Office 365 accounts. In addition, events created in Moodle will be stored in teachers' and students' personal Office 365 calendars, enabling them to easily track course events and due dates. Previously, instructors needed to update their Outlook calendars manually, or send event invitations separately to students.
