Moodle Database API represents a free learning administration framework that empowers you to make effective, adaptable, and captivating web learning encounters. Moodle works on any web server that backs the PHP programming dialect, and a database. It works best and is most benefiecial when running on the Apache web server with a Mysql database. These necessities, Apache, PHP, and Mysql are normal to a very large share of business web hosts, even the ones with minimal expenses.
In addition to a number of bug fixes and small improvements, security vulnerabilities have been discovered and fixed. We highly recommend that you upgrade your sites as soon as possible. One of the most important considerations, however, might also be one of the most overlooked: How do you greet the students?
Our latest release puts a nice Moodle hat on top of six months of planning, conversations via every medium, meetings at all hours, arguments (usually constructive), worry, long coding sessions, organisation, chaos, conferences and mojitos among developers, teachers, administrators in many countries around the world, integrated by Moodle HQ. About 104 developers have code credits in this release (including 23 from Moodle HQ).
As usual hundreds of bugs were found and fixed. In addition we have our usual mix of new features that everyone can see and new features that developers and administrators care about.

I have tested PoodLL on Moodle 2.7 and made a few changes here and there. I updated all the mods accordingly. Only the PoodLL Assignment Submission type and the PoodLL Recording question type had issues. The rest had minor updates. Please download the mods fromMoodle’s plugin database, or via github.
At the start of June we will upgrade the OU Moodle sites to Moodle 2.6. Before then we need to know that it will still perform well when subjected to our typical peak load of 100,000 page-views per hour. This time, I got 'volunteered' to do the testing.
Not many Moodlers use the Lesson Activity in Moodle. Mostly because it’s neither a brilliant quiz engine nor a replacement for the book module. But when you combine both these elements and spend a bit of time on the design you can create engaging, interactive learning packages that can stand their own against popular content creation tools, and best of all, it’s authored natively in Moodle.
Moodle, for those who did not know, is a popular e-learning platform that has a user base of over 50 thousand registered and verified school sites, serving over 60 million users, in over 6 million courses, with over 1.2 million teachers. The official Moodle Mobile app is now available for those of you on Windows Phone and Windows 8.1.
With the improved Conditional activities settings in Moodle 2.7, it's possible to hide an item - and then reveal it - and then hide it again, a feature very useful in the popular gamification type courses.
Moodle’s External Link resource is one of the most flexible in the educator’s/course creator’s tool belt. To date we’ve been using IMS Global’s LTI 1.1 standard to provide access from Moodle to an assortment of 3rd party tools(or even other Moodle sites). The value is an uncomplicated SSO system that provides the minimum amount of data required to allow students to work on a 3rd party system to interact, socialize, or even take a test.
Moodle Question Bank is a feature that allows a teacher to simply create, preview, as well as edit questions in a particular database of question categories. Question categories may be limited to being used on sites, courses or even quiz levels. Questions in a category may be added to a lesson activity or a quiz via an export process. Teachers usually enter the question bank by simply creating or even editing a quiz activity or via the settings>course administration>question bank.
I was observing a course the other day and noticing how it was put together, looked at what it was *doing. My observation was like this:
"This course is kinda lame. It has good content, but its lame. It doesn't engage the student much. Courses were like read this, read that, post in the forum read more and more and post again to a forum."

Two years ago we built and released a Google Analytics feature for Moodle which offered some robust reporting for Moodle – beyond the standard url logging it logged the breadcrumb from Moodle – see here for details. This was released as a plugin on the Moodle plugin directory.
David Bezemer of UP Learning took this concept/plugin and then expanded it to included Piwik an open source analytics system. The plugin is also available in the plugin directory.
Using this plugin requires you to install your own copy of Piwik separately, which you can use for all your websites. So I used it for the Moodlemoot Edinburgh this year, and below include some of the reports that were possible to generate from it.
