Robin Good: Meetingl is a free video conferencing tool that allows you to meet, talk and chat with up to eight people without having to download, install or configure any software.

 

Fully browser-based Meetingl works across PCs, Macs and mobile devices, and it is as simple to use as it gets. To start a session you simply click on "New Room" and instantly you are placed in a uniquely numbered room where you can invite your guests. You can share the URL of the meeting room by clicking on the "room number" that will appear on the lower left part of your interface.

@God Is. When you create a new room. A small window opens, where you are asked to chose wether you want to authorize meeting.com's access to you mike & camera. It says: If you click on Authorize, your conversation may be recorded.

With this new application in Google Docs ( Drive ), teachers can now record their audio comments and share them with their students. I see this as a better way to give feedback on students' work and I do believe there are things we can express with our voice that no written code could ever capture like the tone and intonation..etc.

Those of us who use OneNote love this feature, now Google Drive users can record their voiceattorney give students feedback on their work. A very handy feature.

In the world of educational technology, embed codes are often overlooked. However, the more you work with Web 2.0 sites, the more you need to know about embed codes. Embed codes are those really long strings of code that allow you to embed one site into another. A typical example would be embedding a Youtube video into your blog.

I use embed codes, or parts of the code, for all sorts of purposes but the main reason is to strip out all of the extraneous parts and only focus on the main content. For example, I might want to share a YouTube video but not include all of the suggested sites and other content. I might want to share a Slideshare presentation but I want the link to only be to the presentation…nothing else. As a teacher, this is a very helpful technique and I use it to bring focused content to the students.
