I dont agree with the authors definition of a MOOC - they are not filmed lectures.  That would be a waste of time.

Indeed MOOCs should be much, much more than lecture capture, but there is a real danger that this is what they will revert to.

By now it seems clear that MOOCs can generate vast quantities of data, from course completion rates, to assessments, to student experiences. Duke University recently shared comprehensive data about its first MOOC, Bioelectricity: A Quantitative Approach. This was one of the five courses deemed worthy of undergraduate credit by the ACE, announced earlier this month.
