ITHCS is an initiative self-funded by Dr. Nellie Deutsch, an experienced website developer and administrator of a number of Moodle websites. Nellie has been integrating technology into her high school and college classes since the mid 90s and using Moodle since 2004. Nellie partnered with Mr. Dariem Garcés Urquiza, a Moodle developer in 2005 when he was working on the WebQuest Module for Moodle as a project of his Master degree program in Cuba. Nellie and Dariem have been collaborating on how to improve Moodle courses since 2006 when Nellie founded what is now Integrating Technology for Acive Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL).

Dariem and Nellie are the administrators of a few Moodle websites that are organized by IT4ALL for professional development workshops for educators around the globe. The purpose of the ITHCS is to provide low-cost technical support and consultation for organizations and teachers who wish to own their own Moodle or other e-learning environments such as Joomla, Drupal, or Wordpress. In addition, ITHCS helps sponsor and pay for the free and low-cost Moodle for Teacher (M4T) workshops for educators around the world at Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL).
