Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation

Results Based Management is all about measuring results and involves measuring the achievement of a programmes or projects objectives. Results are usually measured at 3 levels namely outputs, outcomes and impacts. Outputs are usually the agenda of the implementing partner organizations in developmental work while outcomes and impacts are usually the agenda that donors would like to see. In as much as measuring results is key, another important dimension to Results Based Management to have indicators that are formulated against targets because targets demonstrate the committment of partners to bring about change.
