It's what quick studio monitor set up is about! But caution always use the blue feature on the monitor or get a blue filter and look through it! That'd the most professional! Those are SMPTE bars and in blue only or with a blue filter you are accurate with in 1 degree of phase.

Claude Booth's insight:

I like this a demonstration of color monitor calibration vs. color space with in the workspace or given color space with in the work area. This is an experiment that illustrates graphically why I go to the clients location and calibrate the monitor exactly where it is used. Yes calibration at the factory is very valuable but only under the conditions of the manufacturer, there neutral color space!

For color management to work successfully, it's important that your monitor is correctly calibrated. To do this in PaintShop Pro X6, select File > Color Management > Monitor Calibration and complete the Monitor Calibration wizard.
Claude Booth's insight:

A good tutorial but what the author didn't mention is many times you find multiple calibration programs running in a workstation that all interact. Typical in any Mac application the display profile, then paint shop profile and finally the monitor or monitors profiles as in at least two viewing monitors. I can get that all to work together and match! That's when a calibration really works! Glad to do it!

This is a very very good article and it's about allot more than just Advanced OLED  monitor calibration and the difficulties in using Color Space, Gamut, and LUTS and the sources involved. This is a paper that I really identify with. There are more variables today in production and post than ever before plus standards in color space and white points, gamma  and those alone can change a picture from one extreme to another. I like this! This is a white paper that really indepth describes the errors in white uniformity in broadcast and professional monitors particularly LCD's and LED's . This paper concentrates on the critical quality that we measure and calibrate for a correct traceable 6500 degree color temperature in gray scale and a uniform grayscale to color grade and correct your entire picture! This is the reason to invest in a class one reference monitor. Color grading is a very important part of production in the world where you edit and color correct to different camera profiles in the same application.

Claude Booth's insight:
This is a great and interesting article. The author has tried to create REC. 2020 which is an amendment color space April 2013 H264 commonly practiced as REC. 709 as a much easier color space to view also most home television sets fall within REC. 709 or REC.601 color space. P3 is another saturated color space found in projection television and blu ray and is coming on the new broadcast monitors. The common complaint of REC 2020 is the specification is on the edge of maximum human perception and the pictures are very, very, dark! I think there might be a confusion in camera color space as opposed to monitor color space! Acquisition should exceed display it does in many cameras and display should make an acceptable picture.
