On Friday afternoon last week, Yahoo made a simple change to its DMARC policy from “report” to “reject”. And overnight, the bad guys who have used email spoofing to forge emails and launch phishing attempts pretending to come from a Yahoo Mail account were nearly stopped in their tracks.

The first quarter of this year saw the highest average open rate (31.3 percent) since at least 2006. It was also the largest quarter-over-quarter jump (14 percent) in open that we\'ve seen. Columnist Jeanne Jennings shares these insights and more.

While you can't embeb Vine videos directly into email campaigns, I believe with the adoption of HTML5 you will be able to in the future. For now, Vine videos can still be a great tool for email marketers as they easily allow for interactive content, they are concise (7 seconds max) and they will load quickly for mobile users.

The company required email list-owners participating in its program to get verifiable permission from subscribers to receive third-party marketing messages. Marketfish then offered all the names to would-be advertisers in a searchable, automated platform.

The business was aimed at helping solve two of email marketing’s most persistent problems: A lack of permission-based prospecting lists available for third party rental, and a lack of selects—the ability to pinpoint address holder attributes—for the lists that are available.

Interesting concept to renting email lists but apparently the truth remains that renting email lists will always end badly for you. People just don't want unsolicited messages even if you sneak a pre-checked "opt-into third party offers" check box by them during signup.
