Messy Works: How to Apply Self-Organized Learning in the Classroom | Modern Learning Practice | Scoop.it
Several schools are embracing self-organized learning environments as a way to engage students through inquiry, ownership and collaboration by starting with a
Derek Wenmoth's insight:
A good reminder that there's nothing new under the sun, just different (and timely) ways of re-packaging it all and making it relevant to today's context. The principles are the same - and can be applied across all age groups with a bit of careful planning and being prepared to 'step away' as the teacher.

Personalize Learning | Modern Learning Practice | Scoop.it
For this learner, developing challenging and complex skills and concepts is a task to be avoided. If success does not come on the first attempt, these learners easily conclude that learning is not possible and abandon their efforts. (Bandura, 1986; Bandura, 1991) Often, learners with a low sense of self-efficacy try to hide and go unnoticed in classes or even misbehave and act out to avoid the embarrassment and pain of being exposed as not being able to learn what is expected of them.

The Age of Bite-sized Learning: What is It and Why It Works

The Age of Bite-sized Learning: What is It and Why It Works | Modern Learning Practice | Scoop.it
There're many good reasons learners seek out information in small chunks. You might want to take a look at these to create your eLearning courses.
Derek Wenmoth's insight:
The concepts of bite-sized learning and micro-credentials etc are permeating much of the educational literature these days. Much of this appears to be a response to the need for a faster-paced approach to coping with information overload and the need to be more agile in the way one engages with this. On the other hand are arguments about the over-atomisattion of knowledge to the point that it may lose meaning, and the pandering to short attention spans leading to shallow learning. Rather than provide evidence supporting the argument, this article outlines five key arguments that require further investigation and deeper research.
