The idea is to create an “alternative credentialing process that would provide students with credentials that are much shorter and cheaper than conventional degrees,” said David Schejbal, dean of continuing education, outreach and e-learning at Wisconsin Extension.

As I have said, the issue is not the learner or the institution but employers' view of credentialing and learning through digital means. Perhaps the change can start in corporate training by recognising micro-credentialing in staff?

So much relies on or teachers. Reading this, I wonder if the author has ever taught? Using FitBits in a PE class sounds fine in a blog written from a place of privilege and ignorance.

The reality of teaching includes ensuring your students have FitBits, and the devices they must sync to. And that is before you even think about how the lesson plan supports the outcomes the curriculum requires.
