Over the past couple of years, a raucous debate has emerged over the Common Core, content standards in English and mathematics adopted by states nationwide.

"Much of the frustration stems from poorly designed textbooks, not the standards themselves. With very limited exceptions, the Core does not prescribe specific readings." 

So, provide learners with tools which focus on providing an understanding of what is expected and links them to a range of resources and support. One text is inadequate in this information rein world.
