Best Flashmob Videos from Around the World, Cultural Flash Mobs...

 

It's Friday and time for some fun!

 


On Fridays I often post something playful or creative to start our weekend off right.

I thought these videos of flash mobs from around the world really great -- they made me want to get up and dance :)) And they create great stories to share! Just imagine the stories people will share about their experience participating or watching.

 

Storytelling is a creative expression -- and I love flash mobs as a creative expression of people: the singing, dancing, choreography, the element of surprise, and the sheer joy that's involved. Grass roots art -- and that's what storytelling has always been, too. Let's celebrate that also, this Thanksgiving weekend!

 

Having recently participated in the flash mob dinner event Diner en Blanc here in San Diego, I can tell you what a hoot flash mobs are. 

 

My favorite video here is the one from Mumbai, India. The NYC one is OK but too orchestrated for me. But I do love the images from the event -- they are really cool.

I've watched all of these videos and they are awesome. And each one is different. Each has its own unique message/messages about creativity, art, life, and work. Fabulous!

 

These are keepers and I've added them to my 'favorites' on YouTube so I can go back and dip into them whenever I need a lift.

I am waxing poetic this week and searching for inspiration.


While prepping for client work a few days ago I found this poem by David Whyte and thought about sharing it with you. It speaks to me of the power of vivid language and beautiful storytelling. I hope it inspires you also :)

 

LOAVES AND FISHES

 

This is not

the age of information.

This is not

the age of information.

 

Forget the news

and the radio

and the blurred screen.

 

This is the time

of loaves

and fishes.

 

People are hungry,

and one good word is bread

for a thousand.
