Hi Stan, I hear your complaint there and I must say that you are not the only one seeing that issue.

I have been reporting interoperability issues with other services since at least a year but to no avail. Unfortunately new features and support for mobile devices seem to have a priority on fixing the foundations first.

One of the good things about using Scoop.it is that it is not on my own site. I can link to my own post and get a back link.

RebelMouse was born to build a social media hub, but it does have strong aggregation, filtering and curation capabilities. SEO-wise it is not a great choice, but also Scoop.it has quite a few limits on this front.

Rebelmouse doesn't offer all of the extras Scoop.it has, from scheduling, to sharing to an extended number of social networks, to integration with newsletter and to the backend dashboard.

Scoop.it has also a better, cleaner and more legible format, that better lends itself to more in-depth reading than just browsing titles, images and tweets.
Stan Smith's comment, November 12, 2013 9:22 AM
While I still use RebelMouse I have disconnected all inbound links because it posts it wacky and I was always having to go back and edit stuff. Now that I post stuff manually with their applet it isn't so bad. I still prefer Scoop.it though.

Deep Design Turns Chaos Into Curation: Thomas Goetz [Video]

Thomas Goetz, Executive Editor, WIRED discusses "How to Spot the Future"."

Via Robin Good
more...
Robin Good's curator insight, July 5, 2013 2:22 AM

Last year, at the WIRED Business Conference 2012, Thomas Goetz, a Wired executive editor, presented on an interesting topic entitled: How To Spot the Future.

In it, he presented seven rules for identifying the trends, technologies and ideas that will change the world. An activity that Wired editors should supposedly be very good at.

Rule number six in Mr. Goetz presentation is "Demand Deep Design", an elegant way of saying that "curation" and the ability to do so effectively, is and will be a characterizing trait of companies capable of changing the world.

"Stripping away unnecessary info..."

"companies that help us organize our lives..."

"entities that help us understand information"

All these are all easily recognizable traits of those working, directly or indirectly, to help us better manage the large amount of information we are increasingly confronted with.

The ability to do so, is a "design ability", because it encompasses the whole purpose, reason to be and scope of an object, piece of information or tool.

And indeed, it looks like but inevitable (unavoidable), that those individuals and companies who will devise new and better ways to help us manage the info tsunami, will have a fast growing demand coming their way.

"Deep Design turns chaos into curation."

Just Story It - Scoops

Just Story It - Scoops | Mobile Websites vs Mobile Apps | Scoop.it

Here are the best articles from across the web that I can find on using stories and storytelling in business.

I've chosen them because they actually make a contribution to our knowledge and wisdom about stories, show us how to apply stories to growing our businesses, or give valuable how-to tips.

I weed out all the junk. And besides, who needs another post in why storytelling is important?? Where's the beef?? We want the meat!

I've written reviews of each article to share what I like best, what you can get from reading the article, or what may be missing in the article.

How To Find A Topic: Click on the Filter tab above, and type in a keyword. All the articles with that keyword will appear.

I may occassionally review an article that I think is problematic as a way to educate us all, although most I will simply pass over. If you wonder if I've seen an article that is not included here, send me a message and I'll respond.

After doing biz story work for over a decade (and with a PhD in Folklore) I hope you find many great insights and tips here. Many thanks for visiting and enjoy the articles!

And I hope you will also visit my website for more tips and tools, & take the free Story IQ assessment so you can see how well developed your storytelling skills and knowledge is: http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=storytelling-skills-ni-part-
