Great article advocating bitcoins as a means to undermine the nation state. Certainly the potential is there.
It could very well be that the US senses a threat to their influence on the international monetary system and has therefore taken action against Mt.Gox.
It could also be related to the breached contract with Coinlabs, because the real winner here will be whoever takes over the North American trades.
If this is the crackdown we've been anticipating for the last four years, it's very pathetic. I think if the endgame here is the US verse Bitcoin, it was just a method to get the trades to be processed by a company in the US. If there ever is a standoff between the Feds and Cyber-currency users, servers in the US will be subject to seizure, while those in Japan (theorhetically) should not.
I am very interested to see what happens over the next 6 months or so, becasue US companies have attempted to shut down Pirate Bay servers in Sweden, but alas, the internet is not a physical place and Pirate Bay remains.
If the market decides to embrace bitcoins or any other virtual currency, the following revolution will be especially devestating for those who use their energy trying to protect an antiquated past. Either way, a lot of money is about to change hands here.

Here is an excellent article on why major bankers aren't sold on responsive design (mind you I am not sure I trust anything from a business vertical that hardly sets design award standards LOL). There's a horrible truth here: yes, a lot of sites have woken up to mobile (well, tablets) and are starting to be aware of the volume. But detailed analysis of different merchandise patterns? I suspect almost nobody is doing this.

Have you analyzed the different shopping patterns and needs of your mobile customers versus those using a desktop?
Assuming they are the same could leave you missing the boat - and the profits. Kevin makes a case for analyzing the convenience-based, on-the-go customers using mobile to determine their real needs rather than assuming they are like desktop users only on a smaller screen. Delete the scoop?

In the ever-raging Map War, Google seems to be not only a first mover, but the boldest mover.
According to the Globes, an Israel-based publication, Google is reportedly set to acquire the Israeli transit and navigation company Waze for $1.3 billion, making it one of the larger Google acquisitions in recent memory. This latest development comes amid swirling rumors that Waze would be bought up by one of the big guys, by Facebook for $1 billion, Apple for $500 million and now Google.
Waze provides information on traffic congestion, police presence, speed-sensing cameras, and other transportation-related information thanks to the crowdsourced information flowing in from its almost 50 million users. After hearing the father of "disruption", Harvard author and professor Christensen, say he was concerned for Apple I had to agree. Open systems are crushing closed ones left and right. Closed loop systems can't compete with the vast developer network of open source (in anything). Apple makes cool stuff, but if they don't loosen the grip the will go the way of MySpace.com and the Betamax. Time for the cheap iPhone. Via Marylene Delbourg-Delphis

Flipboard is a personal magazine made up of the things you care about most. Recently, it surpassed 50 million readers and released a new feature that allows users to create their own magazines. Readers can now collect and curate the web pages they like into these magazines on Flipboard.
Since the new edition of Flipboard was announced several weeks ago, an additional 3 million readers have joined (for a total of 53 million currently). Also, more than 500,000 magazines have been created since too, given this great new way to curate content for mobile devices. In fact, there are over 6 billion pages flipped per month! I agree with the central idea here. Apple's iOS does need to play catchup or risk losing the market they created.
