Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

The Real BIG Mobile Revolution Is Around Corner
It feels like the mobile revolution is about to find a new center - MONEY. Except "mobile payments" isn't really money. Mobile payments are an expression of confidence, confidence backed up by your bank's tracking number :).

Amazon is busy taking away the biggest friction to eCommerce with same day shipping. If the mobile world can stop tripping over the big bucks to pick up pennies to embrace "mobile money" we will have a revolution the size of which we can hardly imagine.

Currently the telecos think they traffic in "minutes". In fact they traffic in connection and we consumers want ubiquitous always on connection. Once we have what we want the revenue options will explode AGAIN. The always on and everywhere web changes the very nature of money.

Money becomes much more fluid so the distance between desire and spend is shorter. Removing friction between desire and spend is tricky because there is another factor, another form of friction - ATTENTION.

Attention will be the most important and highly contested for commodity on the planet soon. You can't get a customer to buy your widget without their attention, a relationship and enough loyalty to tell all the other barking dogs to calm down :).
