Got to admit this is pretty acurate... people are getting bored with computers. Does that mean we are constantly on the move with technology at hand, or does it mean we are getting bored with our PC's?

Never quite sure, since I get some of it. I'm still not a huge mobile user. But, that does not necessarily mean I'm right. LOL

The man responsible for Amazon’s mobile shopping strategy talks about app design, shopping habits, and how to make it easier to act on your impulses.
Level343's insight:

Mobile shopping is still a sliver of overall retail, and of Amazon’s revenue. While the company doesn’t divulge details, analysts think that maybe 8 percent of the company’s $61 billion in annual sales come from phones and tablets. But Hall’s domain is growing as more people use smartphones and tablets. Amazon runs a slew of mobile apps, including the basic Amazon Mobile shopping app. There’s also Flow, which pulls up price information (and a chance to buy on Amazon instead) for any product you aim your smartphone’s camera at.

Google Says No To Phone Numbers In PPC Ads, Forcing The Use Of Call Extensions

Google Says No To Phone Numbers In PPC Ads, Forcing The Use Of Call Extensions | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
You may have missed Google’s quiet and brief announcement that starting in April, AdWords ads with phone numbers in the text will be disapproved. Advertisers who want to display phone numbers will have to use the call extensions feature instead.
Level343's insight:

There are obvious consequences here. Advertisers, particularly small businesses, will need to consider call extensions when setting their PPC budgets. In addition, in order for call extensions to show “your ad group will have to receive a minimum number of clicks … and a minimum number of calls to show a Google forwarding number”.

Indoors. No Heavy Lifting.: Making Your Facebook Page Work for Mobile

Indoors. No Heavy Lifting.: Making Your Facebook Page Work for Mobile | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it

By  Nik Hewitt: There's plenty of mobile social platforms out there that lend themselves naturally to mobile marketing. Those with downloadable apps. and easy access like Tumblr, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter (obviously) etc. There's also some that are less obvious and just as important - i.e. the grand daddy of them all, Facebook.

Level343's insight:

As marketeers and community managers it's time for us to think about mobile. For some it's the elephant in the room, but we need to begin to think about how our audience are accessing our messaging and to react accordingly. It's only going to get MORE important, especially with Facebook

Mobile Marketing: 50 Percent of Marketers Have No Idea

Mobile Marketing: 50 Percent of Marketers Have No Idea | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
Marketing Sherpa stats show that 50% of marketers have no idea about how customers interact with their companies via mobile. It's time to pay attention. Now.
Level343's insight:

Knowing what your customers are doing, how they are coming to your business (and your website), and what they do when they get there is as easy as looking at your web analytics. And if you’re using Google Analytics, they’re free. That’s F.R.E.E. – so there’s absolutely no excuse for not having them. Yet I know for a fact, based on what I see and hear as a result of all the speaking engagements I do, as well as when I’m meeting with prospective clients, that a huge number of marketers, and business owners, don’t know what they’re missing because they’re not looking at their data. They don’t know because they either don’t collect data or they are collecting data and not looking at it. I might need to go lie down just thinking about this topic, it makes me so nutty.

Facebook's 'Graph Search' Is Another Name For Mobile Advertising

Facebook's 'Graph Search' Is Another Name For Mobile Advertising | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Shakespeare was onto something in 1600 AD, when he penned that famous Romeo and Juliet line. Its import intimates that its not the name of things that matter, it what those things really are.
Level343's insight:

A great post by Ron Callari

Building a search engine that initially searches its "users" versus the "Web" is a blatant move on Zuckerberg's part to use those searches to define user preferences and then offer them up to mobile advertisers.

Level343's insight:

As I see it, at the moment “mobile” still means too many things to too many people. There’s a serious disconnect among the mobile-related needs and objectives of three key groups in the mobile landscape: brands, consumers, and publishers.

Finally, we need to stop thinking of mobile as world unto itself. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel.
