When people call that number, the call tracking software will attribute the call to the correct lead source.
Level343's insight:

No matter how you do it, you need the ability to track all lead types back to the campaign. If you are running a series of display banner ads, for example, that drive people to register for a white paper online, tracking downloads only gives you part of the picture. To measure ROI accurately, you also need to track how many leads picked up the phone and called you after clicking on your banner.

The idea of bring web world to the Mobile was invented when people were bored of computers. But after that, there has been a good amount of increase of people visiting and purchasing stuffs just by few clicks from their mobile itself.
Level343's insight:

Got to admit this is pretty acurate... people are getting bored with computers. Does that mean we are constantly on the move with technology at hand, or does it mean we are getting bored with our PC's?

Never quite sure, since I get some of it. I'm still not a huge mobile user. But, that does not necessarily mean I'm right. LOL

Amazon’s Mobile Strategy Is for You to Buy Something in 30 Seconds

Amazon’s Mobile Strategy Is for You to Buy Something in 30 Seconds | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
The man responsible for Amazon’s mobile shopping strategy talks about app design, shopping habits, and how to make it easier to act on your impulses.
Level343's insight:

Mobile shopping is still a sliver of overall retail, and of Amazon’s revenue. While the company doesn’t divulge details, analysts think that maybe 8 percent of the company’s $61 billion in annual sales come from phones and tablets. But Hall’s domain is growing as more people use smartphones and tablets. Amazon runs a slew of mobile apps, including the basic Amazon Mobile shopping app. There’s also Flow, which pulls up price information (and a chance to buy on Amazon instead) for any product you aim your smartphone’s camera at.

College Students Find Deals On Mobile [And Why It Matters]

College Students Find Deals On Mobile [And Why It Matters] | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
College students love deals -- and they love finding them on mobile. Are you prepared to serve this tech savvy group of current (or future) customers?
Level343's insight:

Research from Study Breaks and Campus2Careers shows that nine out of 10 college students use their mobile phones to find deals. And what’s more? Twenty percent of respondents call themselves “mobile deal addicts” and say they “always” check their phones for deals
.

MizWalidah's curator insight, March 27, 12:53 PM

The above research suggests that college students are mobile addicts for discounts and more likely to buy products via their phones than online.

"Although the study’s sample size (689 U.S. college students) leaves a lot to be desired, what’s more fascinating is what the study implies about mobile usage. If you have a product or service that’s of interest to college students, are you easy to find on a mobile device? Do you offer coupons or discounts through channels that are easily accessible via mobile? If not, you might immediately reconsider your strategy."

College students account for a large section of the target market for pop, indie rock, hip hop and electronic music. They are also more likely than older consumers to seek out new music. Even though digital music is selling for under a dollar this simply further illustrates that independent artists need not focus on the price of music but the sales of music.

SA Suggestion: Get together with like bands in your area (especiallyif your area is in the proximity of any campus and sell group download discounts to shows or even digital sales.

Google Says No To Phone Numbers In PPC Ads, Forcing The Use Of Call Extensions

Google Says No To Phone Numbers In PPC Ads, Forcing The Use Of Call Extensions | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
You may have missed Google’s quiet and brief announcement that starting in April, AdWords ads with phone numbers in the text will be disapproved. Advertisers who want to display phone numbers will have to use the call extensions feature instead.
Level343's insight:

There are obvious consequences here. Advertisers, particularly small businesses, will need to consider call extensions when setting their PPC budgets. In addition, in order for call extensions to show “your ad group will have to receive a minimum number of clicks … and a minimum number of calls to show a Google forwarding number”.

Indoors. No Heavy Lifting.: Making Your Facebook Page Work for Mobile

Indoors. No Heavy Lifting.: Making Your Facebook Page Work for Mobile | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it

By  Nik Hewitt: There's plenty of mobile social platforms out there that lend themselves naturally to mobile marketing. Those with downloadable apps. and easy access like Tumblr, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter (obviously) etc. There's also some that are less obvious and just as important - i.e. the grand daddy of them all, Facebook.

Level343's insight:

As marketeers and community managers it's time for us to think about mobile. For some it's the elephant in the room, but we need to begin to think about how our audience are accessing our messaging and to react accordingly. It's only going to get MORE important, especially with Facebook

Mobile Marketing: 50 Percent of Marketers Have No Idea

Mobile Marketing: 50 Percent of Marketers Have No Idea | Mobile Marketing | News Updates | Scoop.it
Marketing Sherpa stats show that 50% of marketers have no idea about how customers interact with their companies via mobile. It's time to pay attention. Now.
Level343's insight:

Knowing what your customers are doing, how they are coming to your business (and your website), and what they do when they get there is as easy as looking at your web analytics. And if you’re using Google Analytics, they’re free. That’s F.R.E.E. – so there’s absolutely no excuse for not having them. Yet I know for a fact, based on what I see and hear as a result of all the speaking engagements I do, as well as when I’m meeting with prospective clients, that a huge number of marketers, and business owners, don’t know what they’re missing because they’re not looking at their data. They don’t know because they either don’t collect data or they are collecting data and not looking at it. I might need to go lie down just thinking about this topic, it makes me so nutty.
