As one of several Americans affected by the lagging economy, 31-year-old Wedgefield native Derek Gamble has found a way to re-invent himself as an entrepreneur, while offering something different in Sumter.
Kelley calls her son very resourceful and a "jack of all trades." In addition to being a computer technician, Gamble also received his beauty license in 2005-06 from Sumter Beauty College.
"Derek is very well educated and is a good entrepreneur," Kelley said. "He has a good head on his shoulder, and I'm very proud of what he has accomplished in life. The reason why I'm working with Derek with the mobile hot dog vending is because I believe in him and we believe this can be successful."
