Kayla Beltrandi's curator insight, October 28, 2014 11:49 PM

Mobile marketing is an emerging trend that has taken over social media marketing. For a business to succeed in a marketing campaign via mobile media there are important steps for them to follow. The first step to to collect as much data as possible to go along with your campaign. As you progress with you campaign collect information on your customers such as what they are viewing, how often, and how they are becoming engaged. This will help you analyze your market as well as evaluate your business's performance in the long run. The more information you can get, the more informed you will be about your audience and the better your campaign will be. The second step is to realize that every customer is different. This is where the importance of segmentation comes into play. Segment your customer by their interests, gender, age, etc. to make it easier to personalize their needs and make your message relevant to each of your viewers. The third step is writing your first message. This seems like an easy thing to begin, but the first post on your mobile media campaign needs to be well thought out. Many marketers try to dive right into their campaign but it is more effective to begin with a subtle introduction that explains to your customers who you are, what your purpose is, and what they can expect from your mobile media page. The fourth step is about your sender ID. This tells customers who the message is coming from, it is suggested to use you business name so customers can make that relationship. Finally, the last step is what time to send. This is also very important, after you have analyzed your audience take into consideration when is more convenient for them to receive your message and when they will be most responsive to it. Timing is key, and if you follow these steps and analyze your data you should be able to determine the best time to get your message across. Overall, each of these steps is equally important in a successful mobile marketing campaign. Following them will help you reach your audience and get your message across and communicate your brand successfully.

Eric Levitas's curator insight, October 29, 2014 1:02 PM

There are 5 key steps to a successful mobile marketing message.  These 5 steps will ensure success within a company.  Response rates are key and the 5 steps highlighted within this article guarantees these response rates are efficient enough.  The first step is your data.  This data must be accurate to allow for no outlier data to exist.  The next step is knowing that every customer is different.  Within this step personal treatment must be achieved to hit on the different segments a company is trying to target.  The third step is actually writing your first message and staying subtle.  The fourth step is showing a sender ID when your messages are being sent.  This will help the customer know exactly who is contacting them so that they will know which product is trying to reach them.  The 5th and final step is knowing what time to send.  This art will allow a business to know when the most effective time of the day your customer will receive your message.  Each of these 5 steps will set any mobile marketing campaign apart from the rest.  These steps will help someone like myself to send their first mobile marketing when I start my business in the future.

I thought this article, more like paragraph and statistics clearly demonstrate the total amount of women taking over social media. I clearly understand that women have a higher rate then men because women tend to be emotional and they want sympathy from other women/girls for having issues, misunderstandings in their love life and personal general life. In my personal opinion I have experienced with my girlfriends dealing with things in their relationships whether good or bad. The rates for females are also probably higher because women/girls LOVE taking selfies. To me I would of expected a higher results than men. I find it normal.

Why Every Marketer Should Leverage Retargeting - Marketing Land

Why Every Marketer Should Leverage Retargeting - Marketing Land | Mobile Marketing | Scoop.it

Digest...

There are numerous reasons why retargeting is so powerful, especially for performance-driven marketers, and for brand marketers, as well:

1. Second Chance To Convert A Visitor

What makes retargeting especially powerful is the fact that it only targets users that have visited one of your websites or landing pages. This means these visitors have already been exposed to your brand and very likely your product or service. As a result, these visitors are more qualified and likely to be persuaded by continued marketing.

2. Build An Asset By Capturing Your Audience Data

Retargeting is the perfect complement to SEM and SEO efforts. If you already have a steady supply of organic visitors coming to your site, you should leverage that traffic into your own retargeting list. This is especially useful if the majority of your traffic is made up of one-time visitors that would have otherwise gotten away.

3. Create Illusions Of Grandeur

You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve heard a variation of this statement: “I gotta tell you, I see your ads everywhere!” Little do they know. All, save a few digitally-savvy folks, are not even aware that retargeting is at play, which is why it’s commonplace for people to believe that you’re running a million-dollar ad campaign when they see your ads on most of the sites they visit. This is perfect for overcoming trust issues with prospects and building a recognizable brand.

4. Stellar Campaign Performance

As we touched on earlier, a retargeting campaign, which only purchases impressions for individual users, means a cost-effective campaign. From a marketer’s perspective, this can translate into high ROI. In fact, many people consider retargeting to be the “cream of the crop” tactic in display advertising when it comes to ROI, however, attribution models can often muddy the waters (a topic for another day).

5. Up-Sell, Cross-Sell Or Onboard Converted Visitors

By placing a retargeting pixel on conversion or “thank you” pages, you can build an audience list of high-value users. If they’ve converted before and you have another compelling offer, there is a good chance they will convert again.
