HTC One VX.. a budget-friendly handset review

HTC One VX.. a budget-friendly handset review | Mobile IT | Scoop.it

HTC recently made their case for a top-tier handset back in November, with the DROID DNA boasting the highest-resolution display of any smartphone. However, in order to balance out its offerings, HTC has a new budget-friendly handset in town. The One VX is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone added on to their One series of devices, and priced at only $49 on AT&T’s network (after signing a two-year contract, of course), we simply had to get our grubby little hands on this device to see what it’s capable of. Does it provide value to entry-level minded customers without sacrificing a lot in terms of features and performance?

AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Express.. on sale on November 16

AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Express.. on sale on November 16 | Mobile IT | Scoop.it

"You have your phablets, your super-phones, your mid-range to high-end devices, portable mid-rangers, entry-level handhelds, dual-SIM phones, and even ruggedized gadgets. Was there anything left uncovered? What about a low-ender with a large screen"

That box is officially checked now too, as AT&T has announced the Galaxy Express will go on sale starting November 16. The 4.5-incher will cost $100 on contract, which is affordable we guess, although looking at the specs of this bad boy, it seems a bit steep."

LG Optimus G.. AT&T review

LG Optimus G.. AT&T review | Mobile IT | Scoop.it

"With the LG Optimus G, this OEM brings on its most powerful device by a long shot, with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor inside and a 4.7-inch TrueHD IPS+ LCD display up front, this running on AT&T’s 4G LTE network here in the USA. What we’re seeing here is a device that’s ever so slightly confused in its identity – with more power than it knows what to do with in a device that looks and feels fabulous, but is just a bit bigger and more slippery than a normal-sized human being will be comfortable holding. Perhaps this combination of looks and processing power are enough to convince us that LG has suddenly become as much of a top-tier contender in the USA as Samsung and Apple?"

AT&T first to announce LG Optimus G.. in the US | Mobile IT | Scoop.it

"Today AT&T officially announced that it will carry the LG Optimus G, putting to rest the question of which US carrier would be the first to offer the phone, though there is as yet no word on when it will be available. The LTE-capable phone will come with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (though without an expandable microSD slot) and will run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) at launch. More notable, though, are its 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 1280x768 4.7" IPS display—one of the biggest Android displays to hit the market so far."

> No word yet on when the quad-core will be for sale, guess we'll wait for it.

Nokia Lumia 920.. AT&T review

Nokia Lumia 920.. AT&T review | Mobile IT | Scoop.it

With the Nokia Lumia 920 we've been promised a hero device for Windows Phone 8, and indeed it has been defended several time before its release by Nokia and Microsoft – in so many words. But is Nokia’s Nokia’s brand power enough to make us believe the hype? This is supposed to be a “fundamental shift” right along with the wave of Windows 8 touchscreen devices that are currently on their way to retail stores and homes right this minute – is it time for Nokia to shine?"
