How young is too young to have your child start their own Personal Learning Environment?  Barnes and Nobles are selling tablets that offer parent control over the apps and other usage of tablets.  The question though is what does a tablet offer that other devices do not?  How can a child 5 years old (possibly younger) benefit from using a tablet?  These are the questions parents and educators need to ask when is too young for their child to create their own PLE?
