An example of this is you can quickly locate what you want to know in a mere second using your mobile compared to a few minutes or even hours searching around your book.

Will Education Ever Keep Up with Technology?

Will Education Ever Keep Up with Technology? | Shift Education | Scoop.it
People are both driving technological changes and needing more help because of these changes, and according to one panelist at a recent Georgia event, teachers will never catch up; they should become facilitators of knowledge.
Carolyn Wiberg's insight:

Another question might be, what is the base level of technology needed to accomplish significant teaching and learning?  More/brighter/shinier is not necessarily better.

In an open letter, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation — a strong backer of the new academic guidelines — said more time was needed to make the standards work.
Carolyn Wiberg's insight:

Time is a good thing but even more important are things like 1) plans need to be put in place for educators to be able to deliver content and curriculum aligned to common core, 2) fair and realistic accountability is defined, and, 3) if assessments are actually a component of this, we need to make sure they are tested.
